Two

(Lily's POV) I can't believe our mother thinks she can force us to find our mates. I don't need a mate, I want to be alone and live my life. Whoever I end up with is going to hate their lives because I will make their life hell until they reject me. That way, mother can't blame me. "Are you girls ready to go?" Lawrence said as he popped his head into my room, where my sisters are currently hanging out. I don't get how they got ready so fast. Did they even look at the clothes they packed? "Waiting on miss prise," Lobelia said snarkly, as she waved her hand in my direction. She can be such a b***h when she wants to be. She smirks at me, as if she was trying to get under my skin. "Funny how a blood sucker can belittle a powerful witch. With no blood you are nothing, sis." I told Lobelia aggressively. I turned my head away from her and continued packing my bag. I swear Lobelia is asking me to bind her so we don't have to hear her mouth. "How dare you, you, you... " Lobelia says in shock, stuttering over her words. "Bat got your tongue, dear sister?" I sneared at her. How dare she mess with me? Lobelia began chocking and trying to clear her throat. All I could do was smirk in pure enjoyment. I watched as bats started flying out of her mouth and circling her head. Mess with me again, sis, and it will be worse next time. You are so much more enjoyable when you are chocked up on your words." I chuckled as I grabbed my bag and headed out my bedroom door. "Let's get this over with." "Lily, take the spell off her. She is our sister. Can't you two just get along?" Lavender begged quietly, always the mediator. Though she also has no spine, she tries to stay hidden and a complete push over. She seriously needs to grow a back bone or find a mate that can stand up for her. I roll my eyes just thinking about mates. Ugh, disgusting. "Fine." I told her as I waved my hand and heard Lobelia stop chocking. "You girls are going to be the death of me." Lawrence mumbled as he left the room with Lobelia and Lavanders' bags in his hands. Uncle Oliver taught him how to hide baggage, it is so cool. I wish I could do it. "Would you like me to take your bag?" "I guess, you know you could just teach me how to do it and then I wouldn't need you to take my bag." I sassily said to him as I tossed my bag to him and headed out the front door and towards the woods. We all walked in complete silence and I could tell it was bothering Lawrence, but I would not be the first to give in. See, Lobelia can't stand to stay quiet even when the time calls for it, so it's only a matter of time. "Ugh, fine. I am sorry Lily." Lobelia whines. I also know how hard it is for her to apologize. I nod my head at her as a smirk makes its way to my face. No reason to give a verbal answer. I am great at silent treatment. Ha, take that little vampy. Lobelia stomps her feet in annoyance and walks faster, so she is ahead of me, pouting. I love messing with her. "You two are ridiculous, can't you be more like Lavender?" Lawrence said as he ran to try to catch up with Lobelia. We are about to enter a colony and I have no idea if it is a friendly one or not. Everyone always compares Lobelia and I to Lavender. Can't you be calm like Lavender? Can't you create peace like Lavender? I was lost in my thoughts when I walked right into Lobelia. I rubbed my nose and glared at her. Why would she just stop like that? "Damn, get a look at that hunk of a man." Lobelia said, as she nudged me in the ribs. I gritted my teeth, my hands juggling the map I had just opened up to figure out what colony we had ended up at. "For the love of wolfsbane, Lobelia. Keep your elbows to yourself." Stay calm, Lily. All you have to do is keep your cool. I swear, Lobelia has the boniest elbows in the whole kingdom, colonies included. No matter how often I had protested, she insisted on jabbing me right in the side every time she got excited about something. Her idea of grabbing my attention or Lavender's attention wasn't by tapping our shoulders but by inflicting pain instead. I twisted around and my gaze flew through the split in the trees. A huge man marched through the woods, arms swinging in an over - exaggerated motion. His chest stuck out, with his chin held high, I had him figured out in less than two seconds flat. A man full of cockiness and attitude, one who thinks they are better than everyone else around them. Taking what they wanted without any care in the world of the consequences it would arouse. Though he is wearing the strangest clothes I have ever seen. A gray tunic falling to his mid - thigh, no pants or boots on. Holy s**t, his legs are the size of tree trunks. Is it something this colony does, dressing in such a weird way, or is it just him? "Who wants to bet his muscles aren't real?" I mocked in humor. What a joke. I have heard of people using magic to enhance their physique. It was the latest trend going around in the colonies. Mother told us it wasn't true but I found the spell and potion to do it. So I know it was very well possible. Lobelia glanced at me with disbelief, pinching her expression. Of course, she wouldn't think that even after we talked about it before. She tugged on her strawberry - blonde hair, which she had in a braid, as nerves coursed through her. It's not like this imbecile is her mate, so why is she so worried? Everyone always said that she had the beauty of a thousand angels, though mother always said we were pretty much identical other than our eye color, hair color and personalities. Though Lobelia could be a little ditsy, always trying to have everyone's approval, never realizing her true worth. It's sad really, that's why I protect them. No matter what, I will save them from others and themselves when it is required. "How can they not be real?" Lobelia asked, as her gaze turned to the man and then back to me. "He's not wearing pants. What could he possibly be padding..." Then her eyes widened, as if she just realized the best joke. Her lips curled upwards into a wicked grin. I could only imagine what would come out her mouth next. "You filthy girl, I can't believe you are my sister. Never knew you had it in you. Referring to his d**k like hat. Well, with the wind blowing against his clothing I would say...." That's all she got out before our sister, Lavender, cut her off, her face bright red. "That's enough, she wasn't talking about... that. She was talking about how some species have found it enjoyable to use magic to enhance their physical body. Also, stop looking at him Lobelia, he isn't your mate." Lavender tried to hide herself behind Lawrence as we heard a burst of laughter. Who the hell could that be? I whipped around and couldn't believe my eyes, "What the hell are you two doing here? Do our mother and father's know you have snuck away from the kingdom?" I asked in anger. Mother is going to blame us for this, I just know it. "Queen Adelia is going to kill us." Lawrence said in a panic. Isn't he supposed to be our protector? "Lawrence calm down. Lance. Lee. Why are the two of you here? It isn't safe for ten - year - olds to be wandering around in the colonies alone." I told them sternly as I wagged my finger at me. Oh goddess, I am becoming my mother. "Chill sis, we aren't alone. We have been with you guys this whole time and do you really think you need to ask if mother knows?" Lance said as he looked around in awe. He is a smartmouth, scratch that, they both are. "Yeah, plus we are like two inches taller than all three of you," Lee said while chuckling. Laugh it up little bro. "Should we tell mom?" Lobelia, the ditz, decides to chime in. Goddess, how did I get a sister that is such a blonde? Does she have a brain cell in her head at all? "I think we should. I don't want to be in trouble with our parents." Lavender whispered, panic plastered all over her face. Not calm now, are you sis? "We should call mother, but all it will do is get us in trouble. Lawrence, could you run back to the kingdom and tell them we decided to take our brothers on the journey with us and that we will keep them safe? If mother would really like to get them to come back, she can teleport or whatever herself here and get them. We are in the Light Colony." I asked as sweetly as I could muster, as the boys jumped up and down in excitement. Lawrence nods, "I will be right back. Don't move." We all salute him as if he's the boss and then watch as he leaves. "Can you believe we are in the Light colony?" Lobelia whispered in excitement, as if this colony was all sunshine and rainbows. "Umm, Lobelia? You do know the light colony is where all the delusion rumors come from. That they say you can't believe what you see, hear or smell. That they play tricks on your mind and you could even turn against the people you are with." Lee says with wide eyes, bet he is regretting tagging along now. No matter how tall he is, I roll my eyes at my own thoughts.
