Vladimir and Calista are sitting on the sofa in the library room. It's still raining outside. She didn't feel cold because the fireplace kept her warm. Vladimir is on the phone with Calista's dad. He put his phone on speaker mode so she could hear their conversation.
"Uncle, I'm sorry I called you so late. I took Calista to dinner at my mansion and it is raining here. I don't think it will be safe if I bring her home now. I want to ask your permission so she can stay here tonight. I'll take her home tomorrow morning," said Vladimir.
Her dad laughed merrily, then he cleared his throat and said, "Yes! Of course! You have my permission. Let her stay there. Just... take good care of her."
"Yes, uncle," Vladimir replied politely.
"Then have a good night," her dad said.
