I could hear Brian grumbling all the way to the door, but when he actually talked to the delivery man he seemed pleasant. I giggled, adjusting my shirt, pants, and hair before making my way down the hall. I smelled the food before I saw it, and my mouth started watering. Walking into the kitchen I made exaggerated sniffing noises, as if I were a dog. Pointing my nose in the air, and then pointing it to the floor as if following a scent trail. I heard Brian’s rumbling laughter before looking up and breaking into laughter myself. “Here you hound dog,” he said, extending my takeout containers towards me, “take your food and do me no harm.” After snatching the food out of his hands he ran around to the other side of the island and mimed wiping his fake sweat off of his brow.
