Slowly I opened the door to our bedroom. I suppose I should call it my bedroom now, but I think of Brian whenever I think of this place. Having nothing but a towel on from my shower in the other bathroom, I moved tentatively into the room. Nothing seemed different and yet that seems wrong in a way. If something was different maybe it would be easier to accept that he was gone. Instead, I could trick my mind into thinking that he was still on his trip and could be coming home at any time. Bringing myself back to reality, I shook my head back and forth a couple of times. Going into the closet I went to my side and grabbed underwear before turning to look at my pajamas. I stopped before I could touch any of my shirts and then turned to look at Brian’s rack of shirts on the other side. Ta
