I stood there speechless and felt my mouth trying to open and close, but no words would form or come out. When I was finally able to choke them out it sounded like a strangled cry. “Eliott?” I said, taking a step back and into the apartment so that he could come in behind me.
“You’re back?” I asked, feeling the excitement grow inside of me as a smile spread across my face. At first his face seemed so serious that I thought maybe I was in a nightmare, but as soon as the door shut behind us he was next to me in a second.
