Chapter 2

Chapter 2Conri held the blood witch to his chest—his blood witch. The way he smelled had Conri wanting to lick every inch of him. He’d never want to stop touching him. He would never let him out of sight. Why hadn’t he come sooner? Seven months, the witch had been in his kingdom, and he hadn’t scented him once. It was hard to keep upright, and Conri didn’t doubt for a second the witch could’ve killed him. He’d been sure his strength, and being king of this city, would save him—and maybe it had. If he’d sent someone else to break into the witch’s apartment, they’d be dead now. Looking around, he spotted a ratty bed in the corner of the room and slowly walked them over to it. He wasn’t sure if the witch had lost consciousness or what was going on. His body was limp, and his eyes closed.
