Chapter 8Conri cursed as he hung up after having spoken to Lev. The assault charges they’d filed had disappeared—no surprise. Cops always got away with beating the crap out of those who weren’t entirely human. Though, Conri suspected Lev had traded it so he got to walk out of there instead of being thrown in the pit, so he wasn’t too upset.
