The next few weeks were filled with blissful moments like these. Molly and Jay spent their days getting to know each other better, sharing their hopes and dreams for the future. They also spent time exploring the beautiful island they lived on, discovering new places and creating memories together. As time went on, their relationship grew stronger and deeper. They found themselves thinking about each other constantly, even when they were apart. And they both knew that this was something special, something that they had never experienced before. It was a feeling that they both cherished and wanted to hold onto forever. Then, one day, there was a knock at the office "Hello, Molly," Alexander said as he walked into her office. "I hope you don't mind me dropping by unannounced. I just wanted to see how you were doing." Apparently Alexander have been coming to this company often and he knew Molly works there and so he pretended not to be surprised Molly's heart skipped a beat as she saw him standing there. She hadn't seen him since she got deported and she had thought about him often. " No, I don't mind at all," she said, trying to sound calm and collected. "It's good to see you again." Alexander smiled and took a seat across from her. "I have to say, it's been a pleasant surprise to find out that we're working for the same company," he said. "I never thought we'd see each other again, and yet here we are." Molly nodded. "It's definitely a small world," she said. "How have you been?" "I've been well," Alexander said. "I've been focusing on my art and making new pieces. I've been inspired by my new surroundings." "That's wonderful," Molly said. "I've always admired your work. It's unique and expressive. I'm glad to hear that you work here. Alexander smiled as he sat down in front of Molly, but his expression changed when he noticed the ring on her finger. "I have to say, I'm surprised to see you here, and I'm even more surprised to see that ring," he said. "Is it what I think it is?" Molly took a deep breath and looked down at the ring. "Yes, it's an engagement ring," she said. "I got married a few weeks ago." Alexander's eyebrows raised in surprise. "Wow, that's... unexpected," he said. "I didn't know you Its Jay, the guy I ran away from on our wedding day. My father found me and forced me to come back and marry him. But as time went on, I started to see him in a different light. I started to see how caring and kind he is, and I realized that I had feelings for him. I know it's all very confusing, and I'm sorry if I've caused you any pain." Alexander sat back in his chair, taking in this new information. "Wow," he said after a moment. "I'm not going to lie, this is... a lot to take in. I had no idea that you and Jay were involved like that. But I have to say, I'm happy for you. If you're happy, then I'm happy for you." Molly felt a wave of relief wash over her. "Thank you," she said. "That really means a lot to me." "You're welcome," Alexander said. "I hope you know that I only ever wanted what was best for you. I never wanted to hurt you." Even though we didn't end things on the best terms, I'll always care about you. You were one of the most important people in my life." Molly felt tears welling up in her eyes, but she held them back. "I know things didn't end well," she said. "But I want to make things right between us. I want us to be friends again." Alexander reached out and took her hand in his. "I'd like that," he said. "I'd like to have my friend back." They sat there in silence for a moment as they absorbed the meaning of their words. It was a turning point in their relationship, a moment when they could put the past behind them and move forward together. "Can I ask you a question?" Molly said, breaking the silence. "And you have to be honest." "Sure, go ahead," Alexander said, curious about what she was going to ask. "Do you think we could have made it work?" Molly asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "Do you think we could have had a happy ending?" Alexander hesitated for a moment, then stood up. "I'm sorry, but I can't answer that question," he said. "It's not fair to speculate about what could have been. All I know is that I'm happy you found someone who makes you happy. I wish you all the best." With that, he turned and left the room, leaving Molly feeling conflicted. She was glad that he seemed to have moved on, but part of her wondered if he was being completely honest with her. She wanted to believe that they could have made it work, but she knew that the past couldn't be changed Molly returned home, feeling a mix of emotions. She was grateful to have had the chance to talk to Alexander, but she was also a bit overwhelmed by everything that had happened. As she walked through the front door, she heard Jay's voice calling out to her. "Hey, you're home early," he said, a smile on his face. "How was your day?" Molly sighed and sat down on the couch. "It was... complicated," she said. "Do you have time to talk?" Jay's smile faded as he saw the look on Molly's face. "Of course," he said, sitting down next to her. "Whatever you need to talk about, I'm all ears." Molly took a deep breath, then began to tell him about her conversation with Alexander. She explained how it had felt good to talk to him, but also how it had left her with more questions than answers. Jay listened intently, offering her support and understanding. When she finished talking, he looked at her with concern in his eyes. "I know this is all a lot to process," he said. "Do you want to just relax for the rest of the evening? We can put on a movie, make some popcorn, and forget about everything else for a little while." Molly considered his offer, and she found herself nodding. "That sounds nice," she said. "I think a little distraction is just what I need right now." And so, they curled up on the couch and put on a movie, enjoying the simple pleasure of spending time together. For a few hours, they were able to escape the complications of their lives and just be themselves. As the evening drew to a close, Molly felt a wave of gratitude wash over her. She was grateful for Jay's presence in her life, for his understanding and support. She knew that things were still complicated, but for the first time in a long time, she felt hopeful. She turned to Jay, who was already looking at her. Their eyes met, and she felt a spark of connection between them. "Thank you," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "For everything." Jay smiled, and without thinking, he leaned in and kissed her. Molly closed her eyes, savoring the moment. As their lips parted, she looked at him, a question in her eyes. "I've missed this," she said. "I've missed us." Jay took her hand in his and gave it a gentle squeeze. "I've missed it too," he said. "I'm glad we're finally back here
