*Eleanor* I stepped out of the elevator, my heels clicking against the polished marble floor of the company’s lower wing. My breath was shallow, my nerves frayed and tangled. My legs weren’t steady. I wrapped my arms around myself without realizing it until I saw Raymond standing just outside the glass doors of the company restaurant, looking every bit as calm and unreadable as usual.
