I stepped back into the grand hall, the ceremony still in full swing. I moved swiftly to where my mother sat, the regal wife of Alpha Gitz, and lowered myself onto the seat beside her. Without looking at me, she leaned in, her voice barely above a whisper. “Your father is requesting for you in his office.” My breath hitched slightly. She turned to me, her gaze sharp and unwavering. “Go. Now.” Swallowing the knot forming in my throat, I stood. As I was about to leave, I caught sight of Nickolas re-entering the hall. His eyes looked across the room before landing on me. Our eyes locked for a moment, but just as quickly, Delilah’s voice rang out nearby, drawing my attention away. “Alpha Nickolas,” Delilah called, her voice smooth. “Where have you been?
