Chapter Forty Four

1298 Words

Sarah      I found a leather jacket laying on the floor hanging on the rocking chair in the corner of Zane’s nursery.  My eyes found it straight away. And my feet gravitated towards it. The velvety softness of it was familiar.  It was well worn, but perfect. It was Bats.  I didn’t need to see the patch on the front to know.  It smelt of him still even though it had been years since I had seen him wearing it. I had given him it when he first patched in.  a present from me to him. It brought tears into my eyes to know that he had kept it all these years. I had been a spotty teenager, not someone Bat ever looked twice at back then. I had wanted to get him something and saved my money religiously from the moment he had become a prospect the moment he had been patched in by my father.
