Chapter 1 – The Silver Brush
The night after Kael first discovered the brush, he couldn’t sleep. The silver bristles glowed faintly even in the dark, as if the tool was alive. He set it beside him on his small wooden table, but every few minutes, he glanced at it, wondering if it might move on its own.
By morning, the city of Lumina was waking. Merchants shouted from the market, carts rattled on stone streets, and bells rang from the high towers. Kael usually loved this sound, but today, the world felt different—like the brush had changed everything.
He decided to test its power again. Taking a broken wall near the market, he painted a simple flower with one stroke. To his amazement, the petals shimmered and blossomed into a living flower, rooted in the stone. A group of children gasped, pointing and laughing with joy.
But from the corner of his eye, Kael saw him again—the man in black, silent, watching. His presence chilled Kael’s excitement. The figure did not move closer, but Kael could feel his gaze like sharp steel.
Something told him that his peaceful days were over. The brush had chosen him, and now, both wonders and dangers would follow
