Odessa turned to face the shadows as she squinted her eyes to adjust to the darkness, only to see a bright yellow eye staring back at her. Odessa felt a cold chill run down her spine. As the growl erupted from the darkness, she froze in her place, slowly turning her body in another direction, prepared to run. The rogue wolf sensed her plans of escape and immediately adjusted its stance and pounced. Odessa screamed as the large wolf descended on her. Immediately, she grabbed a stick nearby and blocked the wolf's mouth, preventing a bite to her face and immediate death. She struggled against the rogue wolf, trying to defend herself. But the rogue was simply too strong. She could feel its razor-sharp teeth tearing her cheek, trying very hard to dig into her skin. And its hot breath on her whole face. Odessa screamed and kicked. But her actions only seemed to enrage the rogue. "What are we going to do? Help me!" Odessa asked her wolf. Aria, in panic and fear, dripped into her mind. She could sense the smell of death only a few inches from her. "I can't. We've tried this numerous times, but we're too weak to transform." Aria said, her tone sad and desperate. Odessa remembered how hard she had tried to transform into a wolf, but to no avail. She couldn't even bring out her claws or fangs. Saliva dripped on her face as another growl came from the wolf, drawing her attention back to reality. Just as her hopes were lost, as her hands buckled under the wolf's weight, she was almost ready to fall into the embrace of the Moon Goddess. Her hands gave out as she immediately closed her eyes. Waiting for the excruciating pain of being eaten alive. But nothing happened. Only the sound of whimpering as a figure appeared out of nowhere and tackled the wolf to the ground. The stranger wrestled the wolf, holding its huge body to the ground. Odessa analyzed the handsome stranger who came to save her. Fury filled his eyes as he looked down at the pinned rogue wolf. Suddenly, the wolf stood up, knocking the stranger off his feet. He slammed hard on the floor in pain. The wolf ran towards Odessa again, making her scream. The man immediately jumped in front of Odessa, transforming midway into a large brown wolf. He tackled the rogue wolf as they engaged in an intense battle of claws and fangs. The stranger's beautiful brown fur glittered in the sunlight as it fought with the black rogue. The black and brown werewolves quickly engaged in a fierce fight. Despite both being aggressive, the brown wolf had the upper hand and skill. The two werewolves clashed. Their claws swiping through the air as they tried to land a killing blow, their sharp fangs snapping wildly. The handsome stranger, now a brown wolf, used his huge head, knocking the rogue werewolf to the ground, and soon enough, its fur was coated with dirt and blood. The brown wolf's superior strength and skill became apparent as he pinned the rogue to the ground after biting his leg, rendering it unable to stand. The rogue whined loudly, struggling underneath and trying to break free, but the brown wolf held its squirming body, still preventing any escape. The brown wolf descended, wanting to land the final blow, but the rogue suddenly knocked him off his feet and sprinted away. The large brown wolf shook its fur. It looked directly at Odessa, shrinking in size, as the painful sound of bones breaking and rearranging resonated. A handsome man bent on all fours, n***d. He stood up and walked over to Odessa, who stood in shock and stupefaction at what had just transpired in her presence. His nakedness was the least of her worries. "Are you okay?" he asked her. His voice low and husky. Odessa stood still in shock. She almost died. Her thoughts were conflicted. She almost died because she could not transform. If not for this fascinating stranger. "Hello. Greetings to you, milady." The man waved at her face, bringing her mind back. "What? What?" Odessa stammered, confused. He raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing at the corners of his lips. "I asked if you were okay." Odessa nodded, her mind somewhat divided as she still tried to process what had just happened. "Thank you." Odessa said, her voice shaking. "I owe you my life." "Nothing to worry about, milady. I'm Alaric. Alaric Moonborn." He smiled as he introduced himself. Odessa couldn't help but swoon. His handsome face and sly smirk made her blush. The sharp jawline and obvious black, shiny hair made him look like a sculpture. Odessa did feel a flicker of attraction towards him, but she pushed it aside immediately the moment the thought entered her head, to avoid such things from occurring. His expression changed at the mention of things. "May I accompany you to your home? A pretty lady like you shouldn't be seen alone in such a place." Odessa looked at him from head to toe, her perfectly carved brows raised. "You want to accompany me? n***d?" Odessa tried to shift her eyes from down there. A faint blush appearing on her cheeks. Alaric looked down at his nakedness and smirked. "Like what you see?" Odessa turned immediately, her face reddening. "Put on some clothes, please." A few seconds later, Odessa turned towards him and saw he already had a tank top and shorts on. Where he got them from remained a mystery to her. "Now can I accompany you home?" he asked again. This time, Odessa nodded as they walked back to the pack. "How did you find me?" Odessa asked the question that had been bothering her mind. He coughed, saying, "I just happened to be passing by and saw a lady in distress. What kind of man would I be if I didn't help?" Odessa nodded to his reply. She couldn't shake the feeling that something was off about him. He seemed to be hiding something. Odessa didn't say anything to him, choosing to keep quiet throughout the journey. The air was filled with palpable tension. A few minutes later, the huge, beautiful pack house came into view. Odessa breathed a sigh of relief. "Home sweet home," Aria said in contentment. Odessa nodded. She couldn't believe how fast she came to accept this place as her home. She walked in together with Alaric into the pack house. Immediately upon entering the pack house, she came face to face with him. Desmond!
