He ran away… He really ran away leaving me all alone with all these hawks around me.
What happened? Did we not want a ‘mate’? Well, I didn’t want one either but this was not the right way. Everyone here now knew that I was his mate and after the realization, he ran away like that. This gave everyone a fresh set of gossip to whisper about but that wasn’t my concern.
My concerns were standing right beside me. My parents. They were seething in anger and felt humiliated at such public embarrassment. It wasn’t my fault, I saw something change within him in a span of seconds but I didn’t do anything. People around us weren’t helping either with their constant Chinese whisper, each worse than the last.
