We walked to the nearest ice cream parlor, a cozy little place. The bell above the door chimed as we entered, and the familiar scent of freshly made waffle cones greeted us.
“What’ll it be, ladies?” the friendly server asked.
“I’ll have a scoop of mint chocolate chip,” Lara said with a grin. “And for you, Calista?”
