“Calista?” Zenith exclaimed with a questioning voice. He waved at me, I waved back hesitantly.
“There she is,” Ruth spoke simultaneously as Zenith. I looked at both of them in question. What was going on? “We already have all the staff we need and we filled the vacancy with Calista last week, there is nothing I can do.”
“Oh come on Ruth, you might need some help. I am happy to volunteer.” He turned on his charm. I got behind the desk and put my tote bag under the desk. I stayed quiet listening to their conversation.
“We don’t need your charity, and tell your father, that sending you won’t help his case.” My eyes widened, damn Ruth was awesome. She was still smiling but her words were curt.
“Fine, fine. But if you need anything, I am your guy no strings attached.” Zenith win
