CHAPTER - 22 “

“ i forgot, I will buy you something nest time, “ she said as she sat down on her dad’s lap.

“ You have no love for your dad, I can see that, “ he said jokingly as he patted her hair.

“ It’s a promise. What do you want me to buy for you? “ she asked him. It was very funny asking a man who has everything he has with that question.

“ I just want to see my daughter smiling all the time and if anyone makes you sad, just tell me and I will teach that person a lesson, “ her dad said and she hugged her dad.

“ I will not forget that, so don’t worry dad. I will not be sad and only be happy, “ she promised though that was going to be hard.

“ Okay dear. And oh … bring your friend here sometime for a meal, “ he suddenly said and she looked at him confused.

“ You mean Selena? “ she asked him, want to confirm if that was the same person that they were talking about.

“ Yes, the young woman who got married to that Sawyer’s son. I heard that you two are close and she is a good girl. I would love to see her one day, “ her dad praised Selena and she was filled with so much joy.

“ I will do so, I will go and make a call and check if she will be free, “ she said as she stood up.

Her dad smiled at her once again and she rushed Upstairs to her bedroom. She had so much to talk about with Selena. She was curious about what how things turned out with her husband, and if they had made up. She has a lot to talk to her about too. She sat down on her ned and made the call.

Selena was sitting inside Sean’s office for the whole day; she spent her time studying her books since her husband was so busy with his own work. She heard many people gossiping but that didn’t bother her at all.

So what if they call her possessive? It’s not like she didn’t get his permission before going there. Since she was done with most of the promotions, she didn’t have much to do except to maintain her image for the sake of the company.

It was also good for her being with her husband at a time like this, because it showed that they were in good terms.

“ Do you want something eat? Sean asked her as he looked at her.

Ever since she got pregnant she had been eating a lot, though her husband wasn’t even noticing it. Would he be mad at her when he learn the truth?

“ Yes, I want a chicken burger and a banana smoothie, “ she told him .

She just watched as Sean make a call to his secretary for her food order. It was really good being a boss. She was used to being ordered around before she met Sean, and now she was getting the experience of being on the other side.

Everywhere she went, people showed he’s respect even when they talked behind her back. It was a good and a bad thing to be part of the Sawyer family. She rarely even met her in laws because of the tensions in the family.

She never knew that families could be this disorganized before since she grew up in a warm and loving home. She missed her mother, and she wanted to see her already.

“ What are you thinking about? “ he husband asked her.

“ I was just thinking about my parents, actually I miss them, “ she replied.

“ That isn’t a big deal. We can invite them over or we can go there for the weekend any time you want, “ he told her and she smiled with joy.

“ I would love that, thank you, “ she said.

“ I will do anything to make you happy, “ he said and she blushed.

She went back to her studies and a few minutes later, her food arrived. She devoured her food even when she had just eaten a couple of hours ago. Sean didn’t say anything but gladly watched her as she ate her food.

Time passed by so quickly that it was already time to leave work. She didn’t know where they will be going next but all that matters was that he was with her.

“ I made a dinner appointment at the hotel, let’s go, “ Sean said as he stood from his chair.

Selena also pack her bag and followed her husband out of the office. The secretaries all bided them a farewell and the two of them took the elevator down to the basement where Richard was waiting for them. Richard drove them to the hotel where they were welcomed warmly and were escorted inside.

They entered a private room and got seated. Something felt weird though, it didn’t look like they were having an ordinary dinner, and it was as if they were expecting someone else to join, but who might it be?

She didn’t have to wait for that question to be answered because a few moments later the door was opened and a smiling face of my enemy walked into the room.

Selena looked at her husband with a confused look and then at Chloe who had a dissatisfaction all over her face after realizing that she wasn’t here alone with Sean.

“ What is she doing here? “ Chloe asked as she sat down.

“ She is my wife, so of course it is natural for her to be here. There is no way I would meet an ex of mine in absence of her, “ Sean answered as he drank his water.

Selena looked at her husband with so much love in her eyes. He really know the right words to say, they were so lovely to her ears and yet tormenting to Chloe who was seeing where she was standing.

“ What is that supposed to mean? “ Chloe asked.

“ For years, I lamented on what you did for me. I blame you and I for what happened, but now I want to have a closure, I have put everything aside. I wanted to call you here to thank you for what you did, because of you I have realized my true feelings towards Selena and now we are much closer than before. So …. Thanks to you, and I finally have the courage to tell you in the face to stay the hell away from me. If you ever attempt to get near me, I will make sure that you will rot in prison and never see the light of day ever again, “ Sean said and Selena looked at her husband with awe.
