Allison's POV
"Please, please don't make me go with him, I promise I'll be better Mommy!!" I screamed repeatedly as Daunte's thugs drug me out of the house. Down the stairs and into their van. I was eleven.. It was the day we moved in. I had supposedly disrespected Daunte by eating the last few pieces of bacon. His goons took me out into the woods and threw me in a dark cellar. I was left there for four days with no food or water. I'll never forget the look on my mother's face. So emotionless. It was as if she was an empty glass. On the fifth day, they had to carry me out. I knew then to never eat in the house unless I had asked permission first. I keep having these flash backs of things I want so badly to forget.
"Shhh, Uncle Robbie would never hurt his little princess" He sputters in his drunken voice. I can feel myself shaking, but I have no clue who is screaming. That's when I came too. It was me, I was the one screaming. That is until I felt it again. The electricity was shooting all the way up my spine. This time I wouldn't let it take me out. I started to breathe through it. That's when I realized two huge arms were snaking around me. Which made me start to scream again. I threw myself on the floor and slid to the corner of the room. Clutching my knees, all I could manage was "Please don't punish me, I'll be good, I promise".
Xavier's POV
The moment the words left her mouth, my body was frozen. Punish her? Why would she ever think I would hurt her!!
"Allison?" I said while inching my way towards her. She lifts her arm up without even looking at me, "Please, d-d-don't come near me". She whispers in a tone I feel I only heard. It's as if she had an epiphany. She shot up from the floor, "W-w-what time is it ?!" She started looking frantically for a clock. "7:30, he's going to kill me for sure." She muttered while frantically slipping her pants on and scurrying out the door. I had no time to argue as she was already walking out of the nurse station headed to the main road.
I pulled up beside her and rolled down my window. "Could I drive you home? We really need to talk." I spoke in a calming tone, praying she would just let me drive her. "I don't even know you, why would I ever get in the car with you," she spat out. A little feisty, just how I like it. I chuckled to myself. " Dont know me? I'm hurt!" I said while stopping the vehicle. "So cocky" She muttered to herself. "Listen, I wont take no for an answer. Let me drive you please?" I said to her while opening the passenger side door. "Fine, but only because its getting dark", she said in the voice of defeat. Climbing into my jeep made me realize just how small she was. She could barely hop in using the sidestep. I'm 6'7, so I'm not surprised at how small she seems to me.
What I thought would be an easy opportunity to talk, wound up being the most awkward silence. For some reason, I could smell fear all over her. What was she afraid of? More like who? As I opened my mouth to say something to her, she stopped me by talking first. "Please don't tell Lucy about this?" She said in a flat tone. "I really don't have any fight left in me." She turned her head to look out the window, and all I could feel was misery. My mate is being bullied? If they only knew she would be their leader soon. "Lucy Smith? Does she bully you?" I asked with raised brows. Seeing her Nod made my wolf furious. Zander had bugged me from the day she moved here to mark and claim her. I knew I could never force her into anything, so I waited.
Allison's POV
How is this even happening? Im in Xavier Lassant's car. Lucy would literally kill me. I wouldn't even want to know what Daunte would do to me. I shiver at the thought. I noticed we had stopped. We're here already? Looking up, sure enough, we had pulled onto my driveway. I immediately sputtered out "Uhh, this is fine, you can drop me off here. Thank you for the ride." I quickly opened my door and hopped out. Looking up, I could see how confused Xavier looked. If I let him drive me home, who knows what Daunte would do to me? "Thank you again for the ride you really didn't have too." Quickly walking away, I gave him no choice but to hop in his jeep and drive away.
By the time I reached the back porch, I could hear yelling and I knew it was going to be an eventful night. Walking in, I saw about eight guys I've never met all sitting at the dining room table. "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN" screamed Daunte in a drunken voice. My eyes facing the floor, I whispered "I-i-I got hurt at school and had to be checked out by the doctor", hoping that would be an okay answer for him. I guess not because when I looked up his arm was drawn back and his hand made contact with my cheek. That will for sure leave a mark. "Go to your room, before I have you thrown into the hole." He yelled. "And make sure to clean the spare room. Uncle Robbie is getting released tomorrow" he added, with a smirk. SIRENS were going off in my head as I made my way to my room. I barely managed to get inside. Locking the door behind me. Before falling to the floor, in a puddle of fear and sadness.
