It was difficult for Ruby to fall asleep last night and she has spent the night rolling and trying to be comfortable until she falls asleep.
She thought Ryder would come in any minute to question why she has not come into the room yet but he didn't and that made her worry.
After washing her face and hoping that Ryder has left the house, she walk out of the room only to be meet with Logan who is standing a distance away.
He is dressed in a short knicker and a black sleeveless shirt that tightly hugs his body, accentuating his muscles.
What a wonderful first sight in the morning!
Ruby thought to herself as she swallowed the 'whoa' in between her throats.
"Why are you coming from there?" Logan's face squeeze into a malicious glare and he approach her.
Ruby open her lips to answer his question but his scream halt her and almost make her jump up in fear.
"Who let you in here?" He yelled fiercely at her.
Ruby Starr confused not sure why he is all fired up about her coming out of the room but she still answer him.
"I needed a space to sleep last night and this place was available" she said.
"It's not available to anyone. This is place is off limit to you, don't ever let me see you there again" he fired and Ruby find herself nodding confusedly.
She did not see any big deal in sleeping with some room after all it wasn't his room.
Logan push her and go inside the room to check if she hasn't done anything to it yet but the familiar scent seem to have been replaced by hers.
He frown his face as he walk in further to see that something has been changed and turn back angrily to see Ruby behind him. She has followed after him.
"What is it?" Ruby asked when she notice the look of horror on his face but rather than answering her, he rush at her blindly and grab her shoulders roughly.
"Why the hell did you do to the room?" He scream at her and Ruby feels perplexed and try to wriggle her body out of his grab but he hold on tightly shaking her violently as he speaks.
"What are you taking about?" Ruby is forced to ask when he wouldn't bulge.
"The blanket on the bed, the one which smells like plum" he yell further and Ruby feel frightened seeing as he look murderous at each passing second.
"It wasn't comfortable so I changed..." She didn't get to finish the statement when Logan push her away without a car and grunt angrily.
"Who gave you the permission to do that?" He bellow and head to the bed.
Ruby manage to find a balance on the floor and avoid falling down, she turn with a sharp gaze at Logan who rip off the blanket she has replaced and toss it to the ground.
He stare at the whole thing feeling like it has been violated and his grunts start to get loud.
Ruby move closer to make sure he is alright but when he turn to her suddenly, he is not looking like himself.
His face looks terrifying and his eyes flashes a ruminating golden light, his forehead muffled a bit and she draw back.
Just as she prayed that he wouldn't attack her, Ryder who was attracted by the screams of Logan rush inside and sees the scene.
He rush in front of Logan and glare at him, his eyes changes to red and his Alpha wolf growl inwardly for Logan to submit.
In few seconds, Logan stop and his face returns to normal, making Ruby heaves down in relief but still perplexed as to why he was so angry about the room.
"Did you give the room to her?" He asked Ryder still visibly angry.
" Get out of here" Ryder yelled at him instead and with a deadly beams shoot at both Ruby and him, he walked out of the room.
Ruby watched as he left and Ryder ask that the two of them leave the room immediately too.
"Sorry about that" he heaves after they are outside. Logan is nowhere around.
"Who owns the room?" Ruby asked, really curious why it is so precious to Logan that he got so mad.
"Our mother" Ryder answered, his voice fill with sadness and his face solemn.
It was quite a traumatic story for him and Logan, they have chosen not to talk about it for years but it seem that Logan isn't over the incident yet.
He didn't think much about it when Piper told him yesterday that Ruby wanted the room until he hears Logan's angry bellows.
Ruby keep quiet for a moment not sure how to respond to that, what about their mother could make him so mad? She wondered.
"Logan is a bit sentimental about this room, he bears memories of her in there" Ryder said further and she nod like she understood.
Shouldn't they be good memories?
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have gone in there or use it without permission" she said, her hands stroking her hurting shoulders.
"No, I am sorry, let me apologize on his behalf" Ryder said and Ruby force a smile out.
She squeeze her face a bit at the spot Logan had grabbed and wondered why it is so painful. Ryder noticed this and asked her.
"Are you alright? Did you hurt you?" Ryder moved forward
Ruby move her hands away as he gets close and his hand touch her shoulder, she feels a shiver and try to avert but stop herself and remain calm.
Ryder's forehead furrowed as he tensed up and his muscles become rigid, he feels an intense fury seeing her hurt and at that instant, he thought of finding Logan and breaking the bones in his bones.
Ruby see him withdraw his hands and look up to meet his eyes, she notice he is furious and realize it is because of her.
As he make to move, she grab his arm to stop him from doing anything in anger because of her.
"Can you help me apply ointment to it?" The question came out on impulse.
Ryder look at her and heaves down, he take her hand that is grabbing him and lead her to his room.
Ruby try to steady her mind and feel at ease while Ryder walk to the drawer beside the bed to get an ointment for her.
He take his seat beside her on the bed and slowly, Ruby pull her top down to reveal her shoulders.
"Please be gentle" she asked.
Ryder nod and apply ointment as gently as he can, not wanting to cry out like a baby, Ruby pressed her lips together and try not to think of the fact that his hand is massaging her.
"Why did you want to sleep in another room? Are you that uncomfortable with me?" Ryder asked as he goes.
He stopped himself from going to her last night but he really needs to know. They are supposed to be mates and feel connected to each other.
But how come she is not attracted to him as he is attracted to her?
Ruby released her lips not knowing what excuse to give, she knows she can't keep lying to him, besides, soon enough they would be married and expected to link.
"Can you give me a little time?" She finally let out her words.
She just need to sort this ridiculous attraction she has going on with Logan and she will be good.
"How long?" Ryder asked and Ruby feels lost at a response again. Instead she decided to pivot.
"Ow!" She let out.
Ryder halt instantly and ask if he hurt her, she shake her head and he apologize then continue more slowly and gently.
To stop him from asking anything, she continue to express her pain though it is more like a caress on her shoulders.
Piper who is standing outside with few others who has paused whatever they are doing hearing Ruby's tiny but quite loud voice frown hard.
The rest giggles in excitement as their im
agination runs wild believing the two are having a 'good time'.
