Did he see that?
Ruby Fix her eyes on the door where Logan has just walked out and feel a bit unease like she has been caught in a bad crime.
She is trying to think of a way to escape from the space when Pete approach, looking unpleasant at Betty's presence.
"What are you doing here?" He questioned.
"Hmm, I came here to sing" Betty replied with sarcasm and a fake smile before glaring at Pete.
Ruby focus her gaze on Logan who is standing behind and also staring at her, she feels her throat getting dry and gulp down, feeling like she had been caught in a bad crime.
",What?" Pete asked confused not catching her sarcasm and Betty sighs in frustration.
She push him away when she sight Logan and notice him staring intensely at Ruby.
"I believe we haven't been introduced, I'm Betty, Ruby's best friend" she said and put her hand out for a handshake.
Ruby quickly step closer not trusting Betty not to spill things out and freeze for a second looking directly into his fury looking green eyes.
Logan glare down at Betty's waiting hand and ignore it, before Ruby could let a word out, he walk past them to meet Ryder.
"Oh my! Is that the brother?" Betty exclaim quietly, her voice laced with excitement and Ruby nods in response not turning her head back like Betty did.
"So you fancy the cold ones right, he's yummy" Betty said a bit loud and Ruby try to shut her mouth.
She pull her outside to avoid getting heard by someone else and let go of her after.
"I can see why you are confused which brother to choose, they both have their charms" Betty commented smirking.
"There is no choice, I am going to be Ryder's wife in six weeks time" she said and Betty shrugged.
" You never know, aren't they both McCormick?" Betty told her and Ruby reasons.
It doesn't matter. She is engaged to Ryder already.
"If you don't mind then, can I have the younger brother? He looks tasty" Betty asked biting her lower lips in a dirty seduction expression.
Ruby turn to her with a squeezed face and send her a glare, she feels a bit protective and annoyed too.
"He's too good for you" she said and let go of Betty's hand to move out.
Ryder who is back in the ring, trying to keep his smile as the men comment and tease him about the kiss sees Logan also get in.
"Why aren't you in school?" He asked.
"Let's duet" Logan said ignoring his question.
After a while, Ryder have him trap under his arms and force him to surrender when he stubbornly wouldn't do so.
"What is wrong with you?" Ryder asked worried and annoyed.
He has come fiercely at him and in defence he has almost injured him but he didn't stop there until he had to growl him down and end up bruising him a bit.
Logan writhe inwardly as he try to get up from the ground and refuse Ryder's hand to help him up.
"I'm fine" he said and walk out of the ring.
Ryder want to go after him but decide against it, he's a teenager acting up possibly because of puberty.
The next day, Ruby find herself again in Cristabel in discussion about teaching the students for few months.
Fulfilling her duty has put a temporary halt to her education but once the wedding is done, she plan to discuss with Ryder about it.
She gets out of the principal's office and bring out her phone to call Betty to meet up when she sees Logan coming towards her.
She drop the phone from her ear and focus on him but without sparing her a glance, Logan walk pass him and enter into the office.
As he pass by, Ruby notice his bruised chin and get worried that he might have gotten himself in some trouble.
Two boys emerge a minute after him looking battered and Ruby put things together.
She sighs before sending a message to Betty to tell her she would be late.
After waiting few minutes and listening to the scolding from the office, Ruby raise her head as the door open and Logan walk out with a stoic face.
Ruby quickly stand in front of him to stop him from walking away and he cast a deadly glare at him.
"You are injured, let me help" she said ignoring his countenance.
" This is none of your business, get out of my way" he tried to leave but Ruby refused to let him and grab his arm back.
Logan move to shove her off but she hold on firmly and gaze up at him fiercely, seeing how stubborn she is, he gave up. Ruby drag him to the clinic and take the kit from the nurse who nod at her and excuse them.
She sit beside Logan on the bed and help administer the ointment to his bruised face while he remain still not looking at her.
"Is this you trying to act like my sister-in-law?" Logan asked mocking.
"Is this you reacting to puberty?" Ruby throw back and he lift a brow in annoyance.
Ruby continue to apply the ointment but he push her hand off, throwing down the cotton she is holding.
“I don’t want it” he insisted and Ruby flare up.
She stand in irritation to yell at him but he cut her off before she could open her lips.
“Why don’t you go get busy with my brother?” he said raising his chin up, his eyes fill with anger towards her.
Ruby could not place the reason for the hostile treatment, she thought they already come to a truce.
“You shouldn’t worry about the adult business and worry about your body instead, why did you get into a fight? You are no baby” Ruby scold and pick up the bottle to continue but Logan stand up in a sudden instant and grab her wrist almost making her drop the bottle.
She stare at him a bit startle by his action and throw him a questioning gaze, her body reacting a little to the sudden action.
“You are the reason why I am losing my mind but you don’t even know that do you?” Logan throw accursedly.
“What?” Ruby let out in a low voice, her gree eyes staring into his eyes for an answer.
Logan stay silent for a moment and also stare into the seducing green eyes and feel more trap in it.
He pull her closer by her wrist and push his head in to kiss her but Ruby quickly catch the action before he could catch her lips and recoil to evade the kiss and she frown feeling pissed.
Thinking that Logan is once again messing with her, she push him off and glare ire at him.
“Don’t ever do that again” she said with clench hands and push past him to get out.
Logan’s anger kindled up as Ruby walks out and in his rage, he grab the box and slam it on the floor.
