Raven That feeling of a presence beside me vanished almost immediately and I could tell without seeing him that Varek had left. I scrambled out of the room, ignoring Jaxon’s constant calls. He wanted me to come back so we can discuss what to do but what I had just seen sickened me to the core. I didn’t make it to my room when the first wave of panic hit. My chest began to contract and I could feel my breath coming out in gasps. I clutched at my chest and I slipped to the floor right in the hallway. Everything burned. It felt as though I was going to die right here and then even though a part of my brain told me I wasn’t dying. Varek will kill me. Those words kept replaying in my head. I knew it was unlikely but my brain didn’t think so. I also somewhat knew my brain was right. H
