“What?” I managed to say as Ash pulled himself together and walked back to me. He crouched down again and began cleaning the wounds.
While it stung, my need for answers was a lot stronger.
“What is it? What did you see?” I asked again and he took a deep breath as though contemplating if he should tell me or not.
“The blood curse. It has been activated in your system.” This time, I was the one who paled.
“What do you mean? How–“ his expression stopped me from asking any more questions. He didn’t have the answers I wanted or if he did, he couldn’t tell me, but there was someone else who could.
