Seeing Raven completely drenched in her own blood broke me. But what broke me even more was the gut wrenching scream she let out when Varek dig his fingers into her obviously injured neck.
I tried to run to her but my path was blocked completely by reapers. I tried to fight my way to her but they were too many.
“Jaxon!” I yelled hurriedly through our mind link. Before I could say another word, he nodded. He knew what I was thinking.
Moving in front of me, Jaxon, Ash and I cleared a path to Raven. Varek was still behind her, whispering in her ear and she was crying and shaking. Enraged, I lunged at him. I was only able to nick him before he let go of her and jumped out of my reach.
I shifted back to my human form and with all my strength, I broke the chains that held Raven.
