Willow: I met the patient in the ambulance, the hospital was filling up and we didn’t have much room until they got the overflow treatment tent up. “Update please.” I demanded. “He crashed on route to here, we pushed epi and got him back, but he has shards of glasses in his left side. Some sharp pieces we didn’t want to remove until we had staff to help stop the bleeding.” “Smart, let’s bring him in! Be careful we don’t want to push the glass further into him.” We got the patient into the hospital hallway, and I went to work fixing him. I was so thankful for the paramedics; they were the extra sets of hands I needed. The glass shards were deeper than we thought. After a quick x-ray we realized the glass had punctured his left lung and he was internally bleeding. “f**k!” I screamed on
