Emily's POV
I went inside the house and saw the two of them together.
"How could you do this to me, Liam? I trusted you and I was even defending our love and you are here, doing rubbish with another person. You are impossible, Liam. I can't believe this."
Liam: "Enough with all this. How do you expect me to manage with you for two years? I can't touch you. And besides, I didn't even love you. I was only with you for your dad's property. And now another person got hold of it, so now get out of my house."
Sophia: "You heard him right. Get the f**k out."
How could this happen? I trusted him so much and he betrayed me. I didn't think twice. I left there. I was roaming around the street. I couldn't go home. Then a car pulled beside me. I saw him.
"James? What, are you here to mock me?" I shouted at him because I figured he already knew what happened. Then he asked me to get in.
Smith: "Get in."
I got inside and none of us talked. He gave me tissue to wipe my face and I collected it.
"Did you already know this before, when you told me he is not someone I should be hanging out with?" I asked him.
Smith: "Yes."
"How did you find out about it?" I asked him. He looked at my face and he was silent. After a while he started speaking.
Smith: "I found out when your dad handed over the company to me. I did some investigation about you, my future wife." He smirked. "I know now is not the time to be teasing her but I couldn't help it. I was happy their relationship ends. She can finally be mine alone." Then he continued, "Then I found out you were in a relationship with him and I did some digging about him. I found out he was cheating on you with the Miller's eldest daughter, Sophia. You probably know her. She is your classmate in high school."
I couldn't say anything after he said everything. I just kept my head down.
"You think I'm very pathetic, right?" I asked him.
Smith: "No. I think you are lucky you found out soon. He is the one that is unlucky and stupid. You don't deserve him and he doesn't deserve your tears." I really want her beside me overnight. I can't leave her like this. "Should I take you home?" I asked her.
"No, I don't want to go home like this. My parents will be worried," I said.
Smith: "Okay, let's take you somewhere peaceful." I think I should take her to my house.
After a while, with no one speaking again, we reached a penthouse. I was amused with the design and everything that I forgot why I was sad. Then he asked me to come inside.
"Is this your house?" I asked him.
Smith: "Yes. This is my personal space. I've never brought anyone here. Only you now." _Well, this is where we will be living when we get married._ That's what I wanted to say, but considering the condition she is in, I decide to shift it for tomorrow. I asked her to sit down, then I called my nanny.
Smith: "Nanny," I shouted her name. Then she came out of the kitchen. "Nanny, this is Emily. Emily, this is my nanny. She has been with me for ten years now. You can ask her if you need anything. And there are other servants too, but they are currently in their quarters," I told her.
I greeted the nanny and she gave me a warm smile. I smiled back at her too. While Smith led me upstairs to the room I will stay for the night, I remembered he said that we are getting married.
Did I really want to get married to him? I asked myself.
