Kabir took the envelope from Meera’s trembling hands. The delicate, lingering scent of jasmine still clung to the worn paper. He carefully opened the envelope and began reading the words written inside: "Kabir, If you are reading this letter, it means you have brought our story to its fulfillment, and it now lives in the world as a published book. I always knew you would honor your promise to me. This is my final message, Kabir. I do not want you to spend the rest of your life living in the shadow of a memory that belongs to the past. I want you to step forward, meet new people, and allow a new soul into your life—someone who can teach your quiet heart how to smile again. Meera has been a wonderful friend to me... she took great care of me during my final days. Spend time with her; perhaps you both can help heal each other's hidden wounds. Move forward with your life, Kabir. That is my final request, and my deepest wish for you." — S Kabir pressed the note tightly against his chest. A single line of tears traced down his cheek, but this time, beneath the sorrow lay a profound sense of peace. Even beyond death, Simran had cared for his life and happiness. Lifting his gaze, he looked at Meera. She stood in gentle silence, her eyes filled with deep empathy and understanding. "Simran told me so much about you," Meera said softly. "She always used to say that your eyes speak volumes, even when you choose to remain silent." A faint smile touched Kabir’s lips. "She knew me far better than I knew myself." "Would you like to sit outside for a cup of tea?" Meera asked. "There are a few more memories of Simran that I would love to share with you." Kabir gave a quiet nod of agreement. Together, they walked out of the library toward the small tea stall where Kabir used to sit—the cool evening air brushing softly past them. Meera spoke of how Simran talked endlessly in the hospital about the chapters of Kabir's book, and how every single evening she would gaze out the window, remembering him. Through Meera’s words, Simran's vibrant spirit came alive once more. For the first time in an entire year, Kabir found himself opening up to someone new. It felt as though an immense weight resting upon his chest was finally beginning to lift. Meera’s personality was entirely distinct from Simran’s—she was lively, expressive, and outspoken, yet possessed a warmth just as pure. As dusk began to settle into night, Meera stood up to leave. "I should head back now. But... could we meet again tomorrow? Right here at the library, at five?" Kabir looked at Meera. A lingering hesitation flickered within his heart—a fear of replacing Simran's place. But Simran's final wish echoed gently through his mind. "Yes... at five," Kabir replied with a quiet smile.
