Chapter 6. "If you only want this baby I want a divorce." Hallena repeated her words, looking at Damian who looked calm while drinking his favorite cup of coffee. "Fine, I'll divorce you when the baby is born." Hallena smiled bitterly. It was not the words she wanted to hear from Damian, making Hallena even more convinced that Damian had never loved her. "Then I want to work, if you don't let me I'll tell your parents everything you said." Hallena showed the voice recording that she secretly recorded with her cell phone. Damian smiled slightly as if he was not afraid of Hallena's threat. "Alright you can work," Damian stood up from his seat, cupping Hallena's cheek, "But don't let any of my family find out, it will trigger their suspicions." Damian suppressed his words and walked away. Hallena tried to smile, wiping away the tears that were rolling down her cheeks. The next day after getting permission from Damian, that morning Hallena rushed to find a job because Damian no longer wanted to bear the medical expenses of her sister Hallena thought to look for work immediately. "So tired." Hallena wiped the sweat from her forehead. It's been a week since Hallena tried to find a job but she hasn't found one yet, with her lack of education it's hard to find a job in the big city. "Is there a job opening there?" Hallena's eyes squinted at a piece of job information stuck to the glass of a restaurant. It said that the restaurant needed female service. Helena smiled as she read it, and she hurried into the restaurant. "Welcome." A female waitress said a friendly hello. "Excuse me, I'd like to ask you about the job vacancies, are you still in need?" "Just a moment." The waitress hurried to ask her boss about it. Not long after, a man approached Hallena. "Excuse me, I'd like to ask about job vacancies," Hallena said, sure that the man wearing a suit must be a superior at the restaurant. "We're no longer accepting new employees." "But-" Hallena pointed at the job advertisement still on the glass. "It's old information, we forgot to take it down. Go away." "Wait," Hallena grabbed the man's arm, "Please help me. I need attention, I can do anything." Hallena pleaded. "I told you we don't need any more new employees." "But-" "Are you deaf?" The man snapped at Hallena, his loud voice making some visitors notice the two. "Hallena?" Xavier, who was enjoying lunch at the restaurant, was surprised to see Hallena there. "Go away." The man called two security guards to take Hallena out of the restaurant. "Please come out." The security guards immediately pulled Hallena's hand out. "Let her go." Xavier brushed off the security guard's hand. "Xavier?" Helena was surprised to see Xavier standing in front of her. Xavier grabbed Hallena's wrist and led her out. "Why are you here?" Hallena brushed off Xavier's hand. "I should be the one asking, why are you here and making a scene?" "I'm- I'm looking for a job." "Looking for a job?" Xavier was even more surprised to hear that, Hallena had a wealthy husband so why was she looking for a job? "Yes, I need to get a job as soon as possible." It wasn't long before Hallena's cell phone rang. "Mom?" Hallena picked it up immediately. [Hallena, where are you?] [I'm outside, what's wrong?] [Hallena, Raina's condition has declined again, mom has taken her to the hospital but Raina's health insurance still doesn't work] [What? Alright I'll go to the hospital right away] Hallena ended her call. "What's wrong?" Xavier looked at Hallena's suddenly panicked face. "Sorry, I have to go." "Wait," Xavier grabbed Hallena's arm, "Where are you going? Let me take you." "I have to go to the hospital, my brother is sick." "Sick? I'll take you." Xavier rushed Hallena to the hospital, occasionally Xavier glanced at Hallena who looked worried and sad. While Hallena throughout the trip kept thinking about how she could get money for Raina's hospital fees. "Mom, how is Raina?" Hallena immediately approached her mother who was waiting outside the emergency room. "She's being treated, Hallena you need to contact Damian immediately because her health insurance still won't work." Helena was silent, her mother didn't know that Damian was no longer willing to bear the cost of Raina's treatment. "Wait a minute, I'll call him." Hallena walked away, sitting limply on the hospital garden chair not knowing what to do. "You didn't call your husband?" Xavier walked over, sitting next to Hallena. "He won't care," Helena whispered. "What?" Xavier didn't understand how messed up Hallena's marriage was. "Go away." "I-" "Go away, it's none of your business!" Xavier smiled sarcastically, "Well, it's none of my business." Hallena cried, wondering where to get the money for her sister's hospital bills. Hallena cried as she looked at the ring on her ring finger. "This ring is all I have." After thinking for a while Hallena decided to sell her wedding ring because it was all she had. After selling the ring Hallena returned to the hospital to complete the administration. Once taken care of Raina was moved to the infirmary. "Raina's condition has improved." Hallena smiled with relief. The cell phone in her bag rang. "Damian?" Hallena picked it up immediately. [Where did you go?] Damian asked in an angry tone not finding Hallena at home. [I'm at the hospital, Raina is sick] [Hurry home, prepare dinner. My parents are having dinner here] Damian ended his call without even asking about Raina's condition. Hallena immediately returned home, she hurriedly prepared dinner. Not long after Damian's parents arrived they enjoyed dinner together. "Helena, how is your baby? Did you go back to the hospital to have it checked?" Mrs. Aline asked. "Damian and I checked with Damian and my baby is fine." Hallena tried to smile and lie. "Good," Mrs. Aline smiled, "Hallena where is your wedding ring?" Seeing that there was no ring on Hallena's ring finger. "My ring- my ring was in the room my finger was itchy and I took it off for a while." Hallena lied again. "Next time you shouldn't take it off. Damian, I think you should get a housekeeper. Hallena is pregnant and can't be too tired." "That's right." Mr. Aston agreed. "Alright. I'll look for a maid." After dinner was over Hallena quickly cleared the dining table and went into her room. "Hallena." Damian pulled roughly on her wrist. "What's wrong?" She looked up at Damian's annoyed face. Damian grabbed both of Hallena's cheeks, "Tell me where the wedding ring is?" Damian stared intently at Hallena convinced that Hallena had lied to her parents. "I sold it for Raina's hospital bills." "What, how dare you sell it?" Damian became even more inflamed at this. "My sister is worth more than our wedding ring." Hallena smiled sarcastically as she brushed Damian's grip off her cheek.
