Where’s my son

1013 Words
The fact that Agnes was denying knowing who he was drove Jude crazy. Most females would most definitely dive in to the opportunity Jude was currently handing freely to her. Yet she was ignoring him? how could she dare think to treat him like that? Jude wondered. Agnes sat for a drink, all the while looking as unbothered about Jude as possible. He really doubted himself and if it was really Agnes he was looking at as well. Summoning courage from the depth of his bowel, Jude decided to make a move at her table. He seemed very determined, this time she would have to own her name because he was not going to back down. The first move he made at her was to ask a waiter to serve an expensive bottle of champagne to her. 'Miss, a fine gentle man asked me to serve you this' the well groomed waiter told Agnes with a bottle of sparkling gold champagne in his hands while he smiled at her. Agnes raised her eyes to look at the waiter mister while she sucked on the straw that fed her fruit cocktail into her mouth. 'What fine gentle man?' Agnes asked him, removing her lips from the straw and keeping her cocktail down to accept the champagne graciously. Of course she knew exactly who the so called fine gentle man was. 'I'm sure he'd stop by to say hello soon' the waiter replied, pouring a generous amount of the champagne content into Agnes' glass and bidding her a warm stay while she wined and maybe dined later. Jude watched Agnes closely. She knew he was out there looking at her, yet she didn't know exactly where he was, and she didn't seem like she gave a hoot, instead, she downed the glass of champagne without recompense. Jude shook his head in admiration and thought it was time to approach her again. 'Hello Agnes' Jude said, taking a seat opposite the lady on the same table as herself. Agnes stared at Jude for sometime, and then eventually spoke back to him with some familiarity. 'What do you want?' she asked Jude. 'Oh, finally!' Jude exclaimed. 'I thought you'd never recognize me in this life and the next' he added. Agnes continued to look at him, waiting for him to state his reason for approaching her in the first place. 'You like the champagne?' Jude started by asking her that irrelevant question. 'Why are you here mister? I'm a small decision away from alerting the security or better of, the police' Agnes snapped at Jude. He chuckled. 'The police won't take me anywhere. Also, I'm a paying member of this club, the security won't touch me either' Jude bragged. 'Okay then, you can have the club to yourself, since you are the owner, I'm out' Agnes replied, getting up and grabbing the bottle of champagne while she walked away from the man. Jude was shocked at Agnes' show off. The fact that she took the bottle of champagne with her made him go nuts. He laughed a lot to his satisfaction before going after Agnes, she was headed for the parking lot. 'Agnes, Agnes chill. Wait a second' Jude said when he eventually caught up with her. She stopped by a washed off BMW, it looked scraggy, and Jude wondered if that was really her car or she just happened to stop by that particular one by chance. 'What?' Agnes bellowed at him impatiently. 'Where's my son?' Jude asked her. He thought there was no more time for fooling around, he had to ask her that so that she would be on the same page with him someway and somehow. 'Excuse me?' Agnes asked. All of a sudden, her temperament escalated beyond the roof. It took less than a second for that to happen, and all Jude had to do was mention her son's name, their son's name rather. 'My son Agnes, where is he?' Jude asked her again. Agnes broke into a bout of laughter for a long time before she started to reply him. 'The same son you denied? or have you forgotten months ago I was at your office to tell you what had happened as a result of our accidental union, you asked me out of your office, remember?' Agnes ranted. 'You said you could not recollect anything I was talking about, all of a sudden you remember you have a son now?' Agnes asked. 'Pitiful' she blurted while she opened the door of the supposedly scraggy BMW car that Jude earlier hoped didn't belong to her. 'Wait, is this your car?' Jude asked her with a concerned look on his face. 'How many times have you had my boy riding in this sorry s**t?' he asked again. Agnes shook her head at his latest remark. She didn't expect anything better from him so she was not all that surprised at what he said. 'What f*****g son?' Agnes asked, sliding into her scraggy BMW and turning on the engine. Jude stepped away from the car when the exhaust poured it's toxic content on him. He sniffed his shirt quickly, and frowned when he realized that he smelled of Carbon dioxide as a result of the fumes from the car. 'Agnes, chill, wait. f*****g wait, I can explain' Jude was saying but the lady was not having it. She was determined to leave, and so she started to pull out of the parking space she was in. If not for the fact that Agnes' car was slow and rusty, she would have made away from Jude without him catching a trail of her, but thanks to her spoilt car. While Agnes drove off from his presence, Jude hurried to his car. He had to trail her, he had to know where she lived, he imagined he could be of help to her, and that car she rode, as far as Jude was concerned, he had already bought her a new one. He trailed Agnes all the way to her house without her being aware.
