When the door of Agnes' mother's house opened, Jason caught a glimpse of the old woman behind Agnes, and his eyes lit up.
There was a striking resemblance between them, and Jason did not need anybody to tell him that the old woman was Agnes' mother.
Luckily for Agnes, Jason did not spot Jake, even though Jake was in Agnes' mother's arms.
The door of the house did not open fully, so it blocked a part of Agnes' mother's body, and covered Jake completely.
There would be no interrogation and deep questioning of Agnes from Jason, concerning who the child was and belonged to, because, obviously, he must not have belonged to the old lady that was with him.
When Jason's eyes fell on Agnes' body, he nearly missed his breath.
