Jude somehow managed to leave Agnes' mother's house eventually. The woman was one of the nightmares he had to face as a result of his uncanny decision to release his seed inside Agnes.
As much as he was wary of her, he had to consider himself lucky that Agnes was not a tad bit like her mother when it came to being troublesome. It still somewhat baffled him the way Agnes was listening to him and obeying him. She had every right to say she would not do more than half of the things Jude asked her to do, but she chose to obey him.
