Chapter 17 The cave was cold, and smelled of mildew and dirt. Occasionally, the wide, winding corridors carried warm drafts and the scent of coal or cooked meat. Too terrified to acknowledge her thirst and hunger, Koragi clung to the small comfort that she and Tebanis shared the same prison. The floor of their cell was bare, a stone barricade encircling their small corner of the room. Torches lined the far wall near gaping entrances to three different tunnels, but the light they shed barely reached all the way across the cavern to them.
