Lord Herial gifted Tebanis with replacement chainmail and ordered Koragi’s leathers thoroughly cleaned and mended. Refreshed, and with his armor repaired, persistent exhaustion no longer plagued Sir Dieren. They departed the capital city at first light the day following the defeat of Coil. The three companions rode at a steady pace for hours without stopping, their gazes scanning the heavens for any signs of the darkstalker presence they feared. The sky remained clear.
Koragi was relieved when midday arrived without incident. Sir Dieren called for them to halt as they reached a line of trees that followed the Vahnice River. Within a small makeshift encampment buried in the safety of the trees, they ate and drank and rested the horses.
