Underneath The Willow Tree

1305 Words
Previously, within the Emerald forest, a sinister creature from the age of darkness had escaped from the grasp of hell appearing to have a mission at hand. However, its attention was diverted and it indulged itself towards the pleasures and found itself feasting upon a widow and a hunt for her daughter. In retrospect, before the advent of chaos, the abscond of Soul eater was already envisioned by the heaven's oracle so the angels of sloth and envy; Raphael and Gabriel were deployed.              As soon as they plunged out of the heaven's gate, they drifted into the mortal realm wherein the storm had already arrived upon the Emerald forest.             " Yawns* I never thought we'll be sent out this late Gab."  said Raphael with eyes still sleepy whilst drifting along the clouds beside Gabriel.             " Aren't you always sleeping? how come you look tired than me?" replied Gabriel fascinated by his brother's carefree personality.            " Oh this face? this is my resting face, by the way how come Seraphiel isn't with us?" Inquired by Raphael since Seraphiel is known to control the wind and also the weather.             " Agreed. But knowing father, his orders won't lead us to failure right? let's just have faith and do our job." uttered Gabriel after he gestured a no clue response with his arms while after a short while both the angles gradually enter the skies of Emerald Forest. As they arrived; a tempest presented itself before them, making flight arduous. But the wind wasn't the only problem, the hefty rainfall decreases visibility and was accompanied by billow of dark raging clouds; engulfing the entire skies.             " The Soul eater should be appear around here according to the oracle, but keep your weary eyes sharp Raph as I'll be counting on them." says Gabriel while scanning the vicinity but still no luck finding their objective not until Raphael momentarily found something.            " Hey Gab? I think I found an isolated cabin within an open area, want to go check it out for starters?"  replied the sloth while seemingly pointing at nothing due to the immense downpour.            " You sure are being useful aren't you? anyways let us make haste." uttered Gabriel as he descended while following Raphael's lead. They approached the cabin with caution, however as they arrived; the angels found shattered door fragments scattered everywhere so they ambled towards the cabin's porch. But then lightning flashes, and the skies enraged however what they saw after was a fresh crimson scenery of a corpse's remains, and as they inspected more; a trail of bloody footprints was found heading towards the forest's depths.             After a brief moment of internalizing; the storm then subsided while both realized that they were already a step too late. It was unprecedented that a casualty occurred on a mission since every previous mission were completed without any deaths.             " We seek apologies for being late but pay no worries for we shall bring justice upon what has been done."  muttered Gabriel upon the undetermined soulless cadaver while Raphael found another set of footprints which appears to be smaller compared to the other bloody footsteps.             " Check this out Gab! it appears to be tracks left by a child so it must be the parent who died as sacrifice."               " Let us make haste before it's too late, let us prevent another casualty and save this little one." said by Gabriel with an alarmed tone then both of them swiftly followed the trail left upon the grimy soil.                                                                                         *** Meanwhile a couple of minutes ahead, within the dull forest a silhouette appears to be running tirelessly without a destination. On a closer inspection, the one running appears to be Amy who was desperately finding help. However, as she threaded into the depths of the forest, panting and gradually decreasing in speed due to fatigue; she fortunately stumbled upon a large willow tree and sought shelter underneath a hole between its ginormous roots.             Alone with mixed emotions, drenched and cold, she silently cried under the willow tree; thinking about how she ran away while her mother met a gruesome end. A few minutes had passed and the fatigue was getting into her until a slight sound of footstep alarmed the little girl so she covered her mouth and closed her eyes until the sound appears to pass by and away from the willow tree. But then like every stupid child in every movie, her curiosity got ahead of her so she tried to peek from the burrow but all she saw was a rabbit. Then to her relief, she sat down not until she realized something important. Amy remembered seeing a rabbit appearing in front of their porch however it was already too late and just as she suspects, the Soul eater is already grinning at her sight.             Amy was terrified. The Soul eater harshly dragged her out, and with her petite body she continued to struggle, pouncing upon the sinister monster.             "Let me go you monster!!"  says the poor child but it appears to be that the Soul eater enjoys Amy's struggle and to its excitement; It bitten off one of her hands.             " Oh dear! who would expect that you're tastier than your mom. "  uttered the Soul eater while Amy squealed from the pain until she fell unconscious from the shock and loss of blood. " such a shame, oh well I guess its time to dig in." Feasting upon the child, the Soul eater drank her blood and suck out her soul after relishing another bite from the other arm and halfway while draining the poor child, the Soul eater became alert as it sensed someone approaching. That someone was the angel of envy, Gabriel. From a mile, Raphael detected an ominous aura and told Gabriel who made haste but was too late; the child was already dead, cadaver was dry, and the limbs were bitten off and the sight was just too cruel.             " To whom do I pray the pleasure since the Angel of Envy granted me his presence? " stated the Soul eater with a smug on its face but then was surprised as Gabriel suddenly disappeared from sight after a mere blink.             " Do you think I'm joking?"  whispered the angel of envy as he appears from behind, startling the Soul eater that retaliated with a backslash however Gabriel vanished once more; appearing in front, retrieving Amy's corpse in his arms.             " Quick on your feet eh? let's see you catch up to me then." says the Soul eater as it ecstatically retreated into the forest's depths, meanwhile Raphael just arrived but instead of chasing the monster; Gabriel requests for a proper burial. And so, the brothers placed the child underneath the willow tree that served as her grave. Then Raphael sensed Gabriel's rage developing internally, so he uttered: " Do not let your emotions get the better of you Gab".            " Worry not Raph, it won't affect the mission, besides I'm perfectly calm can't you see? "  replied Gabriel as he feigned a harmless smile.           " (Harmless yet a cunning smile, poor guy about to be hunted by Gab.) well if you say so, then let's go bring retribution and complete our objective."          " Agreed. That monster should be heading near towards the Crescent Moon Lake at any moment; let us make haste." uttered Gabriel while Raphael inquired how he knew where the Soul eater went but the angel of envy muttered upon himself:                                                                                                                                                                          " (You'll see~)"                                                                                         End of Chapter Disclaimer: The Allegory of Transcendence - is a work of fiction.
