GRAND OPENING

Third person’s pov

The grand opening of ELIA international was in two days and the owner was busy, like always cooped up in her computer room organizing everything and everyone.

The twins were also busy building new weapons for the opening ceremony. This they loved to do. It’s like building weapons were part of their DNA. No matter what design Ophellia came up with, the twins would make them perfectly. This was their thing and they loved it. The three of them combined have a vested interest in poison and medicine, using some of the rarest plants which they plant using their own techniques.

They have been working on a special weapon that looks like a rugby ball. It can pass as a clutch for ladies or a tie pin for men. They made it so that nobody could suspect it in the open. This eye-catching weapon is the most dangerous compared to any other weapon they invented. It could take down a whole room of werewolves, with no exception of the king. It is a mixture of wolf flower, aconite and vervain. Wolf flower and aconite, also known as wolfsbane, are to render them unconscious. They can even kill depending on the concentration.

The vervain acted as a stimulant to prevent them from slipping into a medically induced comma.

I can’t wait to see the effects ( author giggles).

It’s in a gaseous state. It’s colorless and odorless, it can also be crystallized into tablets and packed in a glass container specially made for them. To humans, this weapon is also lethal due to its combination of the three ingredients. It produces a toxin, powerful enough to paralyze a fully trained special agent.

Two days passed just like that and the grand opening was happening. The media was in a buzz and rumor had it that Dustin DeAngelo would be attending. That means his crew will be in attendance; his tall and dashing assistant Malik and his CFO, who is a chick magnate, the famous Ronny, who changes his women like he changes his ear studs.

The red carpet was buzzing with celebrities, big money and some old money. The reporters were crazy happy the kind of news they would get from this event was enough to shut down the daily planet.

After a long line of celebrities and famous figures, the next to arrive was DeAngelo and his crew. It went quiet for a few seconds before everybody came back to their senses. The cameras clicked. Every photo taken was like a painting, they walked straight in without looking back. Inside the hall, they caused a great sensation and all the ladies, married or single, couldn’t take their eyes off them. Ronny loved the attention so much. Malik was busy looking for his mates so that he could show them off.

Dustin couldn’t wait to see his own mate, it was two weeks since he last saw them and Pio was driving him nuts. At that moment, everybody was accounted for except the owner and founder of ELIA. The hosts were busy entertaining the guests when the doors to the ball room were opened and the hall went silent. The twins walked in first dressed in golden and silver mermaid gowns with black clutch bags in hand. Malik and Ali were struck dumb. Their girls were beautiful. He found his legs taking him towards them.

“May I have the honor of walking you two through this banquet, my lovely ladies,” Malik said with a bow. The girls took his arms and intertwined them with theirs as they walked past everyone. Then gasps were heard and this was because Ophellia was at the door in a black evening gown. Her white hair was shining through the lights, giving it an angelic touch.

Dustin couldn’t get enough of her. He was struck dumb and was lost in his own world. He had this need to reach her before anyone else did, so he went forward and bowed before her and offered her his hand. Ophellia took it without thinking twice and he let him lead her inside the ball room. Gasps and murmurs were heard as this couple passed through the crowded hall as they went to their designated seats.

The host began with introductions and a bit of entertainment before introducing the CEO of ELIA international. Malik was having fun with his two mates who were holding his hands and secretly talking about the royal couple sitting beside them.

“ Hi, I didn’t know that you would be attending this event.” Dustin said to Ophellia, who was busy ignoring him. “ I mean I never took you for a business kind of woman.” He said. “So what kind of a woman did you take me for your mighty highness!” She asked sarcasm dripping from her tone.

“Don’t take it the wrong way, but you look more like a fun-loving kind of woman,” he said. “Tsk and which part of me made you come to that conclusion, because, as far as I know, I’ve not had time to be with you or talk to you for you to conclude that.” She asked back. Taken aback, Dustin didn’t know what to say. It’s true that they just met, so he has no right to jump into conclusions.

An awkward silence followed between them but it was broken by some business men who wanted to talk to him. Ophellia was preparing to go up the stage after the announcement but Dustin was holding her down. A frown marred her beautiful face and she twisted his wrist.

CRACK!

The men lining up to talk to Dustin came to a stand still. All the color drained from their faces. They felt pity for this foolish woman who dared to be so bold as to twist this devil’s wrist. Dustin and Pio were stupefied. They were just trying to hold her down so that she wouldn’t make a fool of herself when the CEO of ELIA was announced.

Ophellia shook his hands and headed for the stage after the announcement was made. The loud applause distracted everyone near the devil and the tense atmosphere cooled down a notch. They watched as the woman they deemed foolish went up the stage with the elegance of a queen. These men were struck dumb, it was like a tight slap to their useless faces. They wondered if this woman dared to twist the devil CEO’s wrist and walk away just like that, then she must be more dangerous than the said devil.

They all felt a chilling numbing sensation in the back of their heads, taking note of the most dangerous woman that had just entered the business world and what did her business entail? Weapons, not just weapons but weapons designed to reign hell on earth and she was the designer of the said weapons. How much do they need to fear her again? Beside her were the most beautiful weapon engineers, the stunning blonde twins that took California by a storm. In just two weeks of their arrival, they had already made powerful names for themselves as the goddesses of weapons.

Ophellia was a different story. She was the quiet one and never appeared in any interviews. You will find her closing business deals ruthlessly without any mercy. The business world called her King Yarma. Only two companies were able to sign a contract with her company. The rest were still gathering their courage to present their proposals.

“ Thank you all for attending the grand opening of ELIA international. I really look forward to working with all of you,” Ophellia said as a sinister look flashed past her eyes. Everybody, including Dustin, felt a chill down their spines. The aura she was emitting was like she was the boss of everyone and nobody had a say. What she says goes.

After her short speech, she welcomed the famous goddesses. The hall went into a frenzy and the oppressing air dispersed. As the twins went up the stage, Dustin was still in a daze. He couldn’t believe that his mate was the famous king Yarma, the most dreaded name in the business world. If only he knew that she was also Hades, the most feared hacker internationally, then I think his mighty highness would loose it for a while.

Ophellia walked off the stage and towards the exit. She was done for the night and she was planning on having a movie marathon with Zaya, who was busy fighting to block out Pio’s mindlink. “ Lia please get us out of here, that weird wolf is trying to drive me crazy.” Zaya whined while covering her big head with her front paws.

She walked out without looking back and was Dustin, the most hard-headed alpha wolf that can’t take no for an answer, especially from his own mate. He chased after her and managed to block her before she got into the waiting car. Without a word, he picked her up carrying her princess style and walked towards his car. He put her in the passenger seat and he took the driver's side and drove off.

Ophellia didn’t have the energy to confront him, so she went with the flow. She was praying so hard that this flow would lead her to her big comfy bed. She was in a daze as she pictured getting into that fluffy bed and covering her whole body with the soft quilt and off to dreamland. She was on cloud nine when Dustin saw this. He was so elated, so she is happy in our company. Pio and he puffed out their chests. They were so proud of making their mate happy that he just had to ask.

“ What’s making you so dreamy?” “ My big bed, I can’t wait to reach home. I’ve been picturing how that fluffy bed is going to take me to dreamland without a worry in this world.” She replied with a soft smile, one of those smiles you rarely see on her. The two alphas were struck dumb. They were defeated by a mere piece of wood. Pio whined and shook his big head from side to side. Dustin was feeling a tinge of pain in his heart and had this urge to burn that bed to ashes.

He had no other choice but to take his mate home and any other plans he had in mind flew out the window at the speed of lightning, looking back only to laugh at his stupid brain. He drove her home and made sure she entered the house, then drove away. He was so disturbed by tonight’s events, so he vowed to make Ophellia see him as a friend first before making any major moves. He was actually depending on the mate bond, but he figured that it did not affect her the way it affects other wolves, so he had a very long way to make her fall for him.

Ophellia couldn’t hide her happiness the moment she entered her bedroom. She ripped that stupid piece of clothing off her body plus all the other small clothing on her body and ran like crazy to feel her bed. If you saw her from the window you’d think that this crazy woman had never seen a bed and she was almost salivating about that quilt. Actually, she was just happy to go to bed, she put on the warm night onesie that was folded on one of the pillows and jumped right in. Sleep claimed her the moment her head hit the pillows.

Dustin arrived at his house and went straight for the bar in his living room. He wanted to drink his jealousy away. Even when Malik finds out that this big bad alpha is jealous of a piece of wood, he will laugh his heart out. He had to control his raging emotions. Pio broke through the barrier and shifted. He dashed out through the side door into the living room leading to the forest. He wanted to run his frustrations away. He had been trying to link up with his mate Zaya, but that stubborn shewolf wouldn’t give him face. She blocked every connection.
