Yaa Achempong had been physically and verbally abused since she could remember. However she was just a normal village girl of about 18 when her father, Papa Manu decided to marry her to the rich prince of the kingdom. The name of the kingdom she lived in was Asemmpenipa. Even though she pleaded with him not to do it but he told her that he was only doing it to raise money to send her brother, Kweku to a university in a different city to continue his studies. Yaa didn't believe him no matter how truthful he sounded. She knew that it had nothing to do with taking Kweku to school. Her mother, Maamie Mansa Achempong, support him fully in his decision like she always did. Mansa always supported her husband faithfully especially when it went against her. Even though he always beat her, she was loyal to him. Finally Yaa gone married to the prince, Prince Djan and the fat drowry was deposited into the Achempong's family bank account. Djan was a ruthless and no nonsense man. After their marriage, Yaa never knew peace. He, Djan, kept fighting with her and beating her for no reason. One year after their marriage, Yaa caught Djan cheating on her and they got divorced. Djan forced her to live with him after their divorce. Yaa only agreed to that because she had nowhere to live. Whiles Yaa lived with Djan, he treated her with more respect than he had ever treated her with. After another year, Djan took her to meet his friend's mother, Takyiwaa, who immediately agreed to marry her for her son, Opoku. Opoku, a very wealthy business tycoon, had gone into so many failed relationships that he had decided to give up marriage for good. He was not even in the country when his mother had him engaged to her. Djan, however was happy to see that Takyiwaa had immediately agreed to marry her because it meant that her would be paid with a huge dorwy. Yaa went to live with Takyiwaa, who was the Queen mother of a very wealthy kingdom called Wonimnyansa. Yaa decided to never returned back to her family house. During her stay with Ohemaa (Queen mother) Takyiwaa and her husband,Ohene(King) Asante, Yaa found favour in the eyes of the king and queen of the kingdom. When Opoku came back from his trip, he was angered to hear that his mother had gone so far to marry for him. "Which stupid girl was golible enough to accept this?" Ohemaa Takyiwaa did her best to force her son to fall in love with Yaa but it never happened. Ohemaa Takyiwaa even drugged his son so that he would sleep with Yaa. By the morning, Yaa was crying and Opoku was raining insults at her. Meanwhile back a the Achempong's family house, the members of the Achempong's family had spent all the drowry they received from Yaa's marriage to the prince. Now they lived as before, all their servants had disapeared and Yaa's sister, Timaa, had to do all the house chores since Yaa had never stepped foot in the village after her marriage. "If Yaa were here she would have done all this! Mother, please bring her back."Timaa complained. The next day Maamie Mansa made a visit to the palace to ask the Queen mother, Ohemaa Dansowaa, if Yaa could come to visit them. The Queen mother ask her son, Djan VB were Yaa was since she was supposed to be with him. "She's in the city of Accra studying for an examination." he lied hoping that it could buy him enough time to find her. For the many years that Yaa stayed away from her family, Djan kept on lying about her werabouts. Even though Yaa tried her best to please Opoku, he refused his engagement to her and sack Erica from the house. Erica left the house. As she walked alone on the harsh streets of Accra, a man, Agyekum, found her and took her in. Agyekum had been searching for his lost daughter for years, so when he found Yaa on the streets he realised the resmblance between him and her and he realised that Yaa was his daughter. Yaa was both Surprised and happy to see her long-lost father. Month after she had found her father, Yaa found out that she was pregnant with Opoku's child. She informed her father who later drove all the way to Wonimnyansa pulling Yaa the whole way to go and convince Opoku to take Yaa in as his wife. But even though she carried his child, Opoku still remained indifferent about this. Agyekum was annoyed and left with Yaa. After Yaa had her babies, Agyekum who was determined to make his daughter,Yaa, independent of everyone. He took her to a colleage and upon completion, allowed her woke for his company. Years later, Yaa returned to Asemmpenipa. Everyone was stunned to see her again her foster family no longer had any control over her and she made sure to get everybody on her side by telling them the truth about what really happened between her and Djan. She also went to Wonimnyansa, and potraited her self as the daughter of a rich business tycoon, and mother of Opoku's triplet which she brought along. Opoku, who finally fell in love with her followed her and begged her to come back to him. "If you com back to me, I'll make you the happiest woman on earth." Yaa later agreed to the marriage and sought to make the lives of her foster parents, ex-husband and siblings miserable and Opoku made sure of that.
