Chapter 2: Don't Touch Me...

896 Words
That voice... It was him! All the absurdity of that night flooded back into Lu Zhiling's mind. The cramped room, the oppressive atmosphere, her clothes torn to shreds. He had been like a beast lurking in the shadows, tearing at everything around him. With his heavy breathing, her world gradually crumbled, reduced to nothing but ashes. Recalling all of this, Lu Zhiling's face turned pale, and she instinctively turned to run, but her wrist was seized by the man. Feng Chao and Hua Ping had disappeared. Lu Zhiling was forcefully dragged into a stretch limousine, where she fell onto the leather seat, her arms pinned down by someone on either side. The unfamiliar space made her feel uneasy, and the prolonged silence only heightened her anxiety, almost swallowing her whole. She dared not even breathe, cold sweat trickling down her forehead. Suddenly, one of her feet was lifted by someone. "Don’t touch me—" Lu Zhiling couldn't help but gasp in a low voice. "Shh." Bo Wang sat opposite her, his eyes lowered as he played with her foot in his hands. His voice was gentle and magnetic, like a lover's whisper. "How pitiful, injured like this. It pains me to see it." Her skin was as white and smooth as jade, her toes small and round, resembling priceless works of art. It was a shame they were marred by mud and blood. "..." Lu Zhiling felt as if her foot was being seared on a hot oil pan, and yet she couldn’t break free. Wen Da, the butler, stood silently at the door of the car, observing inside. Bo Wang opened a nearby medical kit with one hand and took out a medical cotton swab, gently wiping away the blood from the girl's foot. His movements were tender, his deep eyes focused, and his handsome face showed no excess emotion, as if he only cared about that delicate foot in his palm. But Wen Da knew that his young master was not there to do good deeds. Clearing his throat, he addressed the pale-faced Lu Zhiling, "Miss Lu, I believe you understand our intentions. We just want to ask, who is the father of the child in your womb?" At those words, Lu Zhiling felt so embarrassed that her ears turned red. She tightly pressed her lips together, refusing to speak. The nightclub encounter a month ago had been her first time, and Bo Wang, as the party involved, should know better than anyone. Now, a month later, she was pregnant, yet they asked such a question, which naturally made it seem like she had been fooling around after that night. However, whether she had or hadn’t was not important. Since they were asking, their purpose was undoubtedly... Sure enough, the next second, Wen Da spoke politely yet coldly, "We will be taking Miss Lu to the private hospital under the Bo family’s name for treatment." Children of the Bo family could not be born carelessly; an illegitimate child was just a joke. Therefore, regardless of whether the child in her womb was Bo Wang's, it could not remain. Lu Zhiling's heart sank at his words, feeling a wave of humiliation wash over her. Did he really think she was trying to manipulate him? "Mr. Bo," she forced herself to speak, her voice hoarse and trembling. "The incident a month ago was orchestrated by Feng Chao and Hua Ping. I had nothing to do with it, and I absolutely have no intention of extorting money from you." Bo Wang remained silent, his head still bowed as he continued to tend to her injury. His movements were meticulous, as if she were a rare artifact he was handling with utmost care. Yet, his expression betrayed nothing—his eyes remained inscrutable, leaving her uncertain if he had even heard her words. "I don't want this child either," she continued, desperation creeping into her voice. "But my body won't allow me to terminate the pregnancy. Please, let me go. I promise I will leave and never return to K Country. No one will ever know that the eldest son of the Bo family has an illegitimate child." Her pleas came out almost as a whisper, and she felt a sense of vulnerability wash over her, a stark contrast to the strong facade she had tried to maintain. But before she could hope for a glimmer of mercy, a sharp pain shot through her foot. "Ugh..." Bo Wang pressed the cotton swab harder into her wound, the stinging pain causing blood to seep out freely. Only then did he slowly lift his gaze to meet hers. His eyes, dark and piercing, seemed to relish the sight of her anguish. A cruel smile tugged at the corners of his lips, creating a stark contrast to his gentle actions moments ago. "So, you think you’re innocent?" he mocked. She fell silent, unable to respond, her heart racing as she tried to read the emotions behind his gaze. "What a pity," he continued, his tone dripping with disdain. "I, Bo Wang, don’t believe in the existence of an unremovable child." The weight of his words settled heavily in the air, a dire promise that sent shivers down her spine. The certainty in his voice left no room for negotiation, and in that moment, she realized the depth of her predicament.
