CHAPTER 4 | IN LOVE

2 more days passed, but Angela didn't come back to consciousness. It looks like she went into a short-term coma because of her head injury & hearing Andrew's painful life incidents. The man (spirit) was very concerned about Angela. He felt like Angela would never be able to open her eyes. Just then, Angela opened her eyes to find herself lying on her bed. Angela tried to get out of bed, but her whole body was aching. Andrew helps Angela to get up. Andrew was in his normal form. Angela was surprised to see him. She had thought he would be gone by now. He smiled and said,

“ So, finally! You’re awake.”

Angela felt like she would never be able to wake up again. She replied,

“I thought I would never wake up again!”

“ Yes, I also thought that. Looks like you have come back from a short-term coma. But you're alright now, don’t think about it,” Andrew said as he helped her out of bed.

“Why are you here with me? Why didn't you leave me?”

"Please Angela, don't say that! I admit that I gave you a lot of pain, but I felt guilty for that. How can I leave you in this situation? All I did to you was because of that incident. I was in so much anger. But later, I realized my mistake. Please forgive me."

Angela felt pity for that spirit. " OK, I understand. I forgive you." said Angela.

"Thank you!. Let me help you to get up from bed."

While Andrew was helping Angela to sit down on the bed, Angela noticed Andrew’s face clearly. Angela was very attracted by Andrew’s handsome appearance.

“ Are you really a spirit? You’re so handsome!”

“ Yes, I am. Why do you have doubts?”

“ Because you are now looking just like a normal human. I’m getting attracted by you.”

“ Really? Attracted by me? Don’t you have any fear?”

“Yes… I don’t have fear, because now there is nothing to be afraid of you.”

Angela was lost in her imagination. She was thinking. She and Andrew were dancing together in a beautiful flower garden. Walking around the whole garden holding each other’s hands. The sun was shining down on them from the sky above as they walked along, looking at everything there was to see. The flowers were so pretty that it made Angela think of a fairy tale. There were all different kinds of flowers there, some tall, some short, some pink, and others white. Andrew took one of the flowers & gave it to Angela and he said, "Angela, I love you!" But her imagination was interrupted by Andrew's call.

“Angela… Angela! What happened to you? Where did you get lost?”

“No… nothing! I was just imagining something.”

“Why are you such a funny type of girl?”

“I don’t know. Maybe because I am a crazy girl and I love to imagine!”

Angela suddenly looked at the clock and saw that it was 7:30 in the morning. Angela hurriedly started to get off the bed, but she lost her balance and fell again.

“Ouuchh! My leg...

“Hey! What are you doing, Angela? Why did you get up in a rush?” Andrew looked so concerned about Angela.

“I have to go to the hospital. Patients are waiting for me”

“Are you crazy? How can you go to the hospital in this condition?”

“But Andrew, it’s my responsibility. Who will take care of the patients if I lie in my bed as a doctor? I have to go. There will be several patients who are waiting for me. I also have an ongoing group project in the hospital to work on!”

Andrew became silent for a few seconds. “ How strange! You care about people more than yourself in this condition. If you were the doctor on that night, my mom and all of us would be alive now…”

“ I wish I could save you & your family!” Angela’s eyes were teary again.

“ You don’t have to go to the hospital today, you'd rather take a rest. Call the hospital and tell them that you have become sick.”

“Yeah, maybe you are right.” Angela tried to get up and go to bed.

“Let me help you” Andrew took Angela in his arms again. Angela stared at Andrew in fascination. Andrew gently laid Angela down on the bed & he put the blanket on Angela.

“ Just take some rest, okay? And don’t think about going to the hospital again. Have a good sleep. I’m going now, good bye!”

“ You… are you going? Please don’t go, please stay with me.”

“ Why do you want me to stay with you?

“Ah... because... actually, I live alone in this whole house, so sometimes it feels very lonely. I would like it if you were with me.”

“ But you’re in this condition because of me. I feel very guilty. But you still want me to stay with you?”

“Yes, I want & don’t blame yourself for what happened to me. Think that it was just an accident. Please, I ask you to stay.” Angela grabbed her head, it seemed like she was feeling dizzy again.

“Hey! Are you OK?

" No, I'm feeling dizzy again."

"OK, okay, I will stay. Don’t put too much pressure on you.” Andrew sat down next to Angela.

“ Thank you so much Andrew. I felt so sad & empty to hear that you were leaving.”

“Now I am with you. Close your eyes and fall asleep.”

“I don’t want to sleep now. I would rather talk to you. You can ask me any questions.”

“ OK, So tell me about yourself, something about your life.”

“My life… It’s been a few days since I came to this new city to start my career as a doctor. From childhood I wanted to become a doctor and serve people. So, I studied very hard to achieve my dream. Before I came here, I lived with my mom. My mom is the best mom. She is always there for me. She brought this whole house for me so that I don’t have to struggle with living. After my parents got separated, my mom had a lot more responsibility for me. It was very hard for her, but yet she succeeded.”

“ Why did your parents get separated?”

“ My father had a first marriage, but he didn’t tell my mom after he married her. He told her after the wedding. My mom still loved my father. She had no objection to this. But as time went on, my father became indifferent towards my mother and me. He only listened to the first wife and misbehaved with us. He didn’t care about us. So at one point, my mother decided to divorce my father.”

“ Sorry you have to go through all of that. I feel so bad for you!”

“ Don’t worry, everything happened to all of us. It was for our good. I have no regrets about that.”

“ Luckily, in my family I didn’t suffer from anything like this. Yes, we were poor, but we have a strong bond with each other. By the way, why do you live here alone? Why didn’t your mom come with you?”

“Mom wanted to come with me so badly but she has a large business to handle. All the major responsibilities are on her. So she couldn’t find the scope to come with me.”

“ Don’t you have any siblings?”

“No, I don’t have any siblings. I’m the only daughter of my parents!” Angela gave a cute smile & said.

When Angela smiled, Andrew was fully fascinated by Angela’s smile. He was staring at her full of attention. She felt his gaze and looked back at him. Her eyes were sparkling like a bright star that could light up the whole universe.

“What?” she asked. He said nothing. His face was still so full of admiration.

“Andrew… Andrew, please tell me what happened?”

“Nothing. Your eyes are looking tired, Angela. I think you should sleep now. I will come here tomorrow. Please sleep!”

“ Ok, Andrew. Thanks for staying with me.”

“ Pleasure… good bye. See you soon.”

“ Goodbye”

Andrew disappeared into the air in front of Angela’s eyes. Angela sat quietly for a while. Angela felt a strange attraction for Andrew. As Angela began to feel her love for Andrew, it didn’t take long for Angela to realize that she had fallen in love with Andrew. Angela was confused as to how this could be possible, but there was no denying that she loved him. There were tears in Angela’s eyes when she realized that she truly did love him and she wanted him to stay with her forever.

Meanwhile, Andrew also understood a little of what was going on in Angela’s mind. He thought about it.

“Isn’t it surprising that someone has so much affection for a soul? I tortured her so much, yet she asked me to stay by her side and asked me to give her some time? To a soul did she say that? If I don’t stay beside her, then what’s the big deal? I am not human, I am an insatiable soul. Did Angela fall in love with me?”

“I’m thinking about what! Does a human ever fall in love with a soul? Am I stupid? No… I have to stop thinking about all these stupid things!”

Andrew decided that he would go to Angela’s house again tonight. Try to make her understand if she really had such a thing in her mind, Andrew would clear his doubts.

In the night, Andrew appeared in Angela’s room but he saw that Angela was sleeping. He thought, “Angela is sleeping, so there is no point in understanding her actions. I have come tomorrow.” As soon as Andrew was about to disappear, he heard that Angela was whispering something.

“Andrew… Andrew, please don’t do that, don’t drink the poison, please don’t kill yourself, don’t leave me!”

Tears came out of Andrew's eyes. Angela woke up startled. She was breathing heavily & crying.

“Are you okay Angela? What happened to you?”

“ Andrew! Oh, I’m so glad you’re here. I was having a nightmare about you. I saw that…”

“Yes, I heard you were whispering. Why are you thinking about me so much that you are having a nightmare? Why? I’m just an insatiable soul & nothing else. Stop thinking about me!”

“ I don’t know, but I can’t stop thinking about you, Andrew. I can’t stop thinking about the unfortunate consequence that happened to you.”

“Why? What happened to you that you can’t stop thinking about me?” Andrew put a hand on Angela's shoulder and shook her.

“Because I fell in love with you Andrew, I love you.” Angela shouted.

“Are you in your senses? What are you talking about? I think you have lost your mind!”

“Yes Andrew, I fell in love with you. I can touch you, I can feel you. I have a connection with you. The connection of love. The connection of souls. Please understand it.”

“ How many times do I have to tell you that I am a soul, an insatiable soul! How does a human fall in love with a soul? Explain me!”

“Sometimes many things happen in our life which have no explanation. And besides, love has no boundaries, Andrew! I know you are a soul, but I still love you. This is not childish behavior, I really love you. If you were alive now, I would become your girlfriend!”

Angela hugged Andrew, hugged him tightly and said,

“ Please accept my love for you. I truly love you! Please, I can’t live without you. I realized that.”

“But Angela, you are a human, you have a bright future. Please don’t spoil your future over some insatiable soul.”

“ No… if I can’t love you, there is no meaning in my life. Please, I beg you.”

Andrew also hugged Angela. He said in a tearful voice,

“I have fallen in love with you since that night. But I did not reveal it, because I know that I am a soul, I do not exist as a human being in this world. I didn’t want to ruin your life. All my life I have only been neglected and insulted by people. No one has ever loved me like this except my family. No one cried like this to have me. You are truly an angel. I love you too.”

“Oh my God, really! Andrew, you don't know how happy I am to hear that.”

“ Really! Going forward, I will love you more. Always take care of you & I will never leave you alone. I promise you!”

Then Andrew and Angela hugged each other. It seems that the imperfection of both lives has been fulfilled today. Andrew kissed Angela’s forehead. It started raining, a sweet cold wind blew. Together they continued to enjoy the beautiful moonscape of the night sky. Andrew and Angela enjoyed the moment.
