UNFORTUNATE CONSEQUENECE

CHAPTER 2 | THE BROKEN BUILDING

It was Angela's first day in the hospital. Angela wore her uniform & stood in front of the mirror. She looked really amazing. Angela has long, dark black hair which she tied back with a white ribbon. Her hair was full of waves that looked so soft to touch. Her light blue eyes were filled with joy about this new beginning. Angela started to talk with herself in front of the mirror.

“I vow that I'll become a successful doctor and always devote myself to the welfare of people, especially the poor. I will never break this morality under any circumstances.”

Then Angela took her bag, locked the house & got into the car. The car is sent from the hospital to pick up Angela.

The car started to move. After some distance, the car came to an old road. Angela seemed to have seen this road before. After going a little further, Angela was shocked. She whispered,

“This old broken building! I saw this broken building in my dream. But how can it be possible? I thought it was just a dream. But now it exists in real! Then why did I see this in my dream, when I had no idea about this building?”

“I am just confused. Is this some kind of allusion? Or is it just a co-incidence? Maybe it’s a co-incidence. I shouldn't think too much about it. Just let it go, Angela.” But Angela couldn't stop thinking about that building.

The car stopped in front of the hospital. Angela got out of the car and took a deep breath. Angela then entered the hospital as a new doctor. She went through all the security checks and was given her own key card for the hospital. The first day, she found out that the emergency department was very busy. Many people were rushed to the hospital with severe diseases, injuries & accidents. Angela crossed the corridor. Then she went to her room. She was so pleased after seeing her room.

" Wow! My own chamber. Now I can help people, I can relieve them from the pain of various complex diseases.”

Angela was a ' Doctor of Medicines’. She diagnosed the patient by examining him and treated them accordingly with the right medicine. Angela provided treatments for patients with diseases such as fever, colds, cough, headache & many others. She also helped treat minor injuries like cuts and burns. Her job included taking care of the patients and their families too. Angela has been working for 4 hours. She was really feeling pleased because she had already treated so many patients.

Angela was very busy on her first day at this hospital. She examined so many patients on her first day. Then lunch time started. Angela went to the canteen to have lunch. She sat down on a chair and started to eat. While she was eating, a man came in with his wife. The couple were talking about their child. Their child has some mental issues so they were looking for a psychiatrist. Angela heard them but didn't pay much attention to what they were saying because it was bothering her. After some minutes, both of them left. Angela was busy eating, then she heard a voice,

“Hello, I am Olivia Jones. What’s your name?” (Olivia sat with Angela at the same table)

“Hello there. I’m Angela Mulgannon. It’s a pleasure to meet you.

“Thanks, me too. By the way, are you a new doctor here? I've never seen you before.”

“Yeah, today is my first day at this hospital. I shifted here yesterday & joined today.”

“ Does that mean you come from another city?”

“Exactly! I moved here from Texas. I heard that this is a small town & there are plenty of hospitals with plenty of doctors. Because I became a doctor not only to fulfill my dreams but to serve people. So I came here to serve the people who are fighting diseases.”

“ Wow! That’s incredible.”

Angela & Olivia become good friends. At 3:00 p.m., there was a meeting for all the doctors that wanted to be part of the project. Dr. Mazzetti asked everyone to introduce themselves and explain why they wanted to join the project. Angela’s shift finishes in the afternoon. It was a really busy & tiring day. She again got into the car to go home.

On the way, Angela again saw that broken wired building. It was almost evening. In the evening it was looking more creepy than in the morning. Angela was a little scared.

“Uhh… why is the building so weird & mysterious? It seems like it is trying to attract me.”

“ I have to know the mystery.” Angela decided to know the mystery of the building.

Angela went home & took a quick shower. Then she turned on the phone. She called her mom.

“Hi dear, how have you been? How was your day?”

“ The day was super busy mom. I had a lot of patients today. This town really needs a good number of doctors.”

“ Have you eaten lunch, honey? Are you taking the pills?”

“ Yes mom, I ate lunch at the hospital canteen & yes, I am also taking my pills. Don’t worry mom. I am good.”

“ How can I stop being worried about you? You are my sweet baby girl, you’re all I think about.”

“ I know mom, me too.”

“ Okay, you take some rest now. You must be really tired.”

“Ok mom. Have a good night, bye.”

“Bye my dear” ( Angela’s mom hung up the call)

Angela didn’t tell her mom about the dream last night or about the building. Because her mom was already worried about her, if Angela told her mom about all of this, she would panic.

After finishing dinner, Angela was listening to her favorite podcast. The podcast ran for an hour. After that, Angela took her pills and fell asleep.

That night, again, Angela was having a nightmare. She saw the same old building. That night, she was trying to get into the building. Everything was dark inside & the atmosphere there was extremely cold.

“ Oh my God, why is it so cold here? I’m dying!” Angela whispered while sleeping.

“ Hello… Is anyone here? Hello.”

Suddenly, she could hear some noise coming from somewhere in the darkness of that place. The more she tried to move forward, the more her feet slipped on the floor. She had been slipping for quite sometime now and was unable to find her way out. As she stood up & turned around, someone pushed Angela to the floor and dragged her by the leg.

“Nooo….. somebody please heeelp. Please heeelp."

The nightmare was over, Angela gasped, her heartbeat racing up to her throat. Angela looked around her, then realized she was having a nightmare. She was so shocked.

“ What’s happening to me? Why did I repeatedly dream of that building? And who was attacking me?" Angela was so confused about that matter.

“ Is it just a coincidence that I keep dreaming about this one thing? Or am I getting a hint of something through this? No, this matter should not be taken lightly. I need to know if there is such a thing in that building. Which attracts me constantly.”

Angela drank a glass of water. Then she thought,

how would I know the mystery of the building?

“Is it okay to tell Olivia about this? No, the matter is complicated and terrible, it would not be right to tell her. So…”

“Yes! That’s a great idea. I will go alone & I will enter the house. But what if something happens to me? No, I can’t do that.”

Angela fell asleep again thinking about all this.
