An unlucky day

Lizzie's heart was pounding in her chest, threatening to burst out of her ribcage as she called out for Mister Davis in a trembling voice filled with fear and desperation. Her pulse was throbbing in her throat, and her mind was flooded with worst-case scenarios. Every moment felt like an eternity, and she was petrified of what could ensue if she did not locate him soon. After what felt like an eternity, Lizzie finally heard a faint sound of Mister Davis's voice, and her relief was palpable. However, the fear had taken root inside her, and she found it hard to form coherent sentences. Her breaths came in gasping spurts, and she felt like she was on the verge of passing out. As they waited in silence, Lizzie's thoughts were filled with memories of a similar situation she had been in before, which only served to intensify her anxiety and jitters. Suddenly, there was a loud, jarring knock on the door that made both Lizzie and Mister Davis jump in fright. A guard's voice demanded that they open the door right away or face severe consequences. Lizzie's heart skipped a beat, and she felt like she was about to lose consciousness. Mister Davis acted promptly, instructing Lizzie to hide while he answered the door. As he opened it, the guard greeted him with sarcasm and demanded to know if he had seen Lizzie. Mister Davis tried to remain calm and composed, pretending not to know anything about her whereabouts. However, the guard was not fooled, and his tone grew increasingly menacing. "Do not play games with me, Mister Davis," he growled. "We know she's here somewhere. Where is she?" Mister Davis was speechless, and fear took hold of him as the guard apprehended him and dragged him out of the building. As they departed, another guard entered, and Lizzie's heart skipped a beat. "Liz, where are you? Please, I don't mean any harm," he whispered urgently. "Jake, what are you doing here?" Lizzie whispered back, her voice trembling with fear. "Liz, please let me help you. I promise I won't hurt you," he pleaded. But Lizzie was too frightened to trust him. "Right, why would I do that," she replied weakly. "Well, you don't give me any other option then," Jake said with a sigh. Just as Lizzie was about to reply, she suddenly blacked out, and Jake's last words echoed in her mind: "I'm sorry, Lizzie. I just needed this money." When Lizzie regained consciousness, she found herself in a dimly lit room with Emma, who had seized the necklace from Lizzie. "Give that back!" Lizzie yelled, but as she put the necklace on, something strange occurred. Emma screamed in terror as her eyes widened. Lizzie did not know what was happening, but she was too scared to move. "You did something to the necklace, you brat. You thought that if you put a spell on it, I would become a princess once again." "Wow, where are you talking about? I didn't do anything." "Well, you certainly know more than I do." "Arrest her," Emma yelled. "Okay, princess."
