AMBER POV The sun's bright rays streamed through my window, making the dust motes dance in the air. I snuggled deeper under my cozy blanket, a wave of sickness washing over me. My eyes felt scratchy and sore. Hugging my soft pillow close, I wished the feeling would just go away. "Amber, you're going to be late for school," Dad's voice rumbled softly as he tried to wake me.
