Bab 9 luna dobel Chapter 8 — The Luna Doble I still didn't understand what had happened. I stared at my hands, my fingers trembling slightly. Just moments ago, I had been helpless. I couldn't even defend myself against a single attack. And now… Everyone around me was looking at me as if I had become something terrifying. I could hear their whispers. “The Luna Doble…” “She has awakened.” “Impossible…” My heart began to pound. What were they talking about? Why were they calling me that? “Aurin.” Raven's voice pulled me out of my thoughts. I looked up and saw him standing a few steps away. His expression was tense, and there was something in his eyes that I had never seen before. Fear. Not fear of me. Fear for me. “Come here,” he said quietly. I tried to move toward him. But the moment I took a step, a sharp pain suddenly shot through my chest. “Ah!” My knees gave way. Before I could hit the ground, someone caught me. Kael. “Easy,” he murmured, holding me steady. I struggled to catch my breath. My heart was beating so hard that my chest hurt. “Let her go.” Raven's voice was cold. Kael looked at him. “She almost fell.” “I can take care of her.” “Then you should have been there before she fell.” The tension between the two Alphas immediately thickened. I closed my eyes for a moment. Could they really do this now? “Can you two stop arguing?” Both of them fell silent. I looked at Raven first. “I want to know what's happening.” He didn't answer. I turned to Kael. “You know something too, don't you?” Kael remained silent. That silence was enough. “You both knew.” Raven sighed. “Aurin, this isn't the right time.” “Then when is?” I stared at him, unable to hide the frustration in my voice. “After more people get hurt because I don't even know what's happening to me?” Raven's expression softened slightly. I looked down and pressed a hand against my chest. The burning sensation was still there. “I’m scared, Raven.” The words slipped out before I could stop them. His expression changed immediately. He took a step toward me. But before he could say anything, a long howl echoed from the forest. Everyone turned toward the sound. Another howl followed. Then another. Raven's entire expression hardened. “They're coming.” “Who?” I asked. Kael looked toward the trees. “Aldric's warriors.” My stomach tightened. “But I thought they had retreated.” “That was only a small group,” Raven said. “They were testing us.” Footsteps soon echoed through the forest. Dozens of werewolves emerged from between the trees. And behind them came a tall man dressed in black. Alpha Aldric. His eyes immediately found me. He stopped several meters away, studying me with an unreadable expression. “So,” he said, a faint smile appearing on his lips. “I finally get to see her with my own eyes.” Something about the way he looked at me made my skin crawl. Aldric's smile widened. “The Luna Doble has finally awakened.” Raven immediately stepped in front of me. “Don't come any closer.” Aldric chuckled.
