CHAPTER 23.
I wore a puzzled expression as I turned towards the security personnel who had addressed me. A wave of dizziness washed over me, my eyes struggling to focus on them.
"Where is the patient who was in this room?" I managed to ask, my voice shaky.
However, the nurse rudely interrupted, her tone filled with hostility. "What are you waiting for?" she snapped at the men. "Drag her out of here!"
Two of the security personnel moved forward, ready to comply with her orders, but one of them quickly intervened.
"Don't touch her," he commanded firmly. "Miss Taylor, what can we do to assist you?"
