Eric's POV
My faint flame of hope was gradually burning and expanding as more and more evidence told me that Carina was alive and that she was now in the adjoining city. Just do as she wishes, she can stay wherever she wants now, I won't bother her.
Recent photos and personal information came back to me one after another, and I was sure that this was Carina, and thank God that Carina had persevered through the cold waters, which was her courage and my salvation. The pain of self-torture that I had experienced at all times before subsided, and I have been sleeping longer and longer at night these last few days, pressing Carina's picture under my pillow, hoping to bring Carina into my dreams.
