Agnes’ disappearance as his secretary was a guilt for Zachary. He tried to hire some private investigator to find Agnes but they failed. It was very hard for Zachary to accept, at once his secretary was lost. If he just became so nice with the woman, if he would just instruct Agnes with her work in a nice way. Agnes probably will stay.
“Sir, if you don’t mind, you can hire a new secretary to replace Agnes,” his driver Dominic suggested.
Zachary already thought about it but it's a hassle and there will be new adjustments. But he was still hoping for Agnes to come back.
“For now, I can manage my office alone, Dominic. Just drop on my condo unit,” he said and Dominic nodded.
It’s almost two weeks of searching but Agnes never showed up. He’s been so worried. When Dominic dropped him off, Zachary immediately went to shower. He needed to distract himself, he kept on thinking about the disappearance of Agnes. If the woman will just inform him seriously and explain the problem to him. He will probably understand her. But Zachary was the problem. He was rude to Agnes every day.
Zachary went to his friend’s Nicholas club. He informed Nicholas that he was on his way. His friend just responded okay. Nicholas might be very busy right now. But the man was the only friend he had.
Zachary had a hard time looking for a parking area. There were so many cars while waiting for a white car to park he suddenly saw a figure of Agnes with a man. He immediately went out to his car and ran.
“Agnes,” he said and immediately grabbed the woman’s hand.
“Excuse me?” the woman was shocked.
“I’m sorry, I thought you were my friend,” he said.
“Really?” the woman smiled and bit her lower lips.
Zachary never said anything and he left the two. He shook his head. Agnes drove him crazy.
It took twenty minutes for Zachary to finally find a space for a park. He locked the car before walking away. When he entered the club, he caught the attention of everyone again. Especially the woman, all their eyes were on him. Zachary just walks straight. His friend Nicholas greeted him and waited for him at the bar counter.
“What brings you here?” Nicholas asked.
“I just miss you,” he said sarcastically.
“If that's the case, your drinks will be free,” Nicholas laughed, “just kidding, I need some money but really, what’s the matter?” Nicholas seriously asked.
“Just give me some wine first, we have the whole night to talk about things,” he said.
“Wine, Sir?” the bartender asked.
“You heard him,” Nicholas said. “It seems that you have a hard time figuring things out right now. Wine is just for thinking, hard drinks are for hard problems.”
“Do you have a worker here who resigned because of your attitude?”
Nicholas shook his head, “not at all, I treat them nicely. But yeah, sometimes I raise my voice.”
“What if someone just resigned because of your attitude, will you look for her?”
Nicholas crossed his eyebrows, “I don’t think so, if she wants to resign then be it, but wait, can you tell me directly your problem? Your bother at first makes me uncomfortable.”
“Your wine, Sir,” the bartender interrupted.
“Thanks,” he took a little zip and he continued talking, “Agnes resigned, and I don’t know where she is right now. I tried to look for her but she’s nowhere to be found.”
“Did you do something wrong to her?”
“Making her feel dumb and scolding her,” he answered.
“Is that a guilt?”
“I don’t know, she makes me crazy all day. I keep on thinking about her. Maybe there’s a part of being guilty but,” he stopped. “Do you think I just missed her?”
“Ask yourself about Zach, but it seems you’re falling in love with your secretary.”
Zachary took the whole wine and asked for another one. He can’t say that he was falling for Agnes. But every morning, he was hoping that Agnes would show up in the company.
“You know, you have to stop that feeling Zach… maybe you just have separation anxiety. We often miss someone that we often see every day. The loss of your parents makes you think that way right now.”
Zachary took a heavy sigh, “The first week when Agnes suddenly disappeared it did not affect me that big. But right now, I feel incomplete.”
“You need to rest. Go to States, you need peace of mind, it would be so hard for you in the following weeks.”
“I can’t, the new hotel will be built in Baguio City next month, I need to be there.”
“I will call Lolo for him to visit you,” Nicholas said.
“Don’t do that. He’s too old to take good care of me. He deserves peace of mind also,” he said to Nicholas.
“So what will be your plan? You can’t tolerate that emotion, Zach.”
“Your wine, Sir,” the bartender interrupted again.
“You don’t need to inform him, just place the glass nearer to Zach,” Nicholas said to the bartender.
“Just let him be,” he said to his friend. “Are you not busy next week?”
Zachary thinks a short vacation would be so effective for him to distract himself from thinking about Agnes. Nicholas was right, he might have separation anxiety.
“What’s your plan? I can go with you but you promise to shoulder all the expenses.”
“I will,” he assured. “I need some fresh air and a blue ocean, maybe on Boracay Island? Or in Siargao?”
“How long?” Nicholas asked.
“Maybe a couple of days? But not more than 6 days. I am also planning to bring Dominic.”
“Who’s Dominic? Your boyfriend?” Nicholas laughed out loud.
“Shut up, company driver, I need to treat them nicely.”
“That ‘s fine with me, you must be so close to him?”
“I think so?”
“So you have a new friend now?” Nicholas pouted his lips and acted like s**t.
“Just shut up. I just want him to come with us. He’s been so very busy for the last two weeks. He keeps on looking for Agnes for me.”
“I don’t know what‘s going on with you, Zach, but yeah, you need some break. So I’ll come with you, there’s a lot of hot girls on the beach. Speaking of hot girl, do you notice that woman?” Nicholas pointed his finger at a woman who kept on teasing them.
“No, I have no plan to take woman tonight. It’s a waste of time,” he said to Nicholas. “One more, please,” he said to the bartender.
“That’s good, you're becoming a saint,” Nicholas laughed.
