demons?

Then, from somewhere up the street, there is a faint whispering. We all turn to the source, the sound growing in intensity with each passing second. The whispering continues to grow louder and louder, drowning out the silence around us. It grows to the point where it feels like a shout, but the whispering remains impossible to understand. "What are they saying?" Alex asks, looking around anxiously. I look around with my hand over my ear, trying to make out the words but unable to. Kevin also looks around, trying to make sense of it all. The whispering continues to grow louder and louder, until it feels like it's right in our ears. Finally, I find myself able to make out the words... The words are unmistakable and make our blood run cold. "You are not human," the voice whispers, its tone ominous and sinister. "You are a demon," it continues. "You do not belong in the world of the living." The words echo in our heads, sending chills down our spine. Alex looks at me with horror in his eyes, as Kevin looks at both of us with confusion and fear. "What did they say?" Alex asks, his voice trembling. All we can do is stare back at his, unable to find the words to describe the terror we feel.Alex and I look at each other with a stunned expression, trying to process what we're hearing. "We are human!" I exclaim, my voice shaking with fear and disbelief. "Of course we are!" But the whispering continues, its tone growing more insistent. "You are not human," it insists, "You are a demon who does not belong in the world of the living." The words hit Alex and I hard, as though we're being confronted with a truth that we're not ready to accept. "No," Alex says, his voice trembling, "No, that isn't true." Alex and I look at each other with a sense of fear and disbelief. The whispering still fills our ears, its ominous tone growing even more insistent and loud. "It isn't true," Alex says again, his voice growing stronger. "We are human, and we belong in this world, and I refuse to believe anything else." I nod in agreement, feeling a surge of anger rising inside of me. "We were born of humanity, and we belong here, in this world!" The whispering grows louder and louder, as though the voice is yelling at us. No matter what we say, it insists that we are demons.Alex and I look at Kevin with confusion. He stares at us both, his eyes filled with fear and indecision. He looks as though he wishes to say something, as if a thought is lingering on the tip of his tongue that he isn't sure how to express. Finally, he lets out a deep breath and says, "Alex is right. We belong to this world, and no demon can take that away from us." The whispering in our ears grows even louder as Kevin speaks, as though the voice doesn't want us to deny its presence. The voice suddenly falls silent, and we all look at each other with confusion and trepidation. The whispering is gone, and we stand in silence for a moment, uncertain of what to do next. Slowly, fear and anxiety give way to curiosity and interest as we realize that the presence of the demon is no longer weighing us down. Finally, Alex speaks up, his voice filled with courage and determination. "I want to see this demon for myself," he says. Kevin and I nod in agreement, and the three of us begin to move down the street in search of the source of the whispering. We walk down the streets in search of the source of the whispers, our heads on a swivel as we try to stay alert and aware of our surroundings. The city is strangely quiet, and no one seems to be around. We look around nervously, unsure of what to expect. Finally, as we turn a corner, we see a tall, shadowy figure lurking in the darkness. Its form is eerie and foreboding, and its presence feels sinister and otherworldly. We stop in our tracks, all three of us feeling a sense of unease and fear.Alex and I look at each other with concern, but I decide that I will be the one to confront the demon head-on. We silently agree to continue on, and I take a deep breath and start walking towards the shadowy figure in the darkness. As I approach, the demon's form begins to take shape, its body rising up to seven feet tall and its features slowly becoming clearer. It's head is covered in a black hood, and its body seems shrouded in shadows. The demon's presence is ominous and threatening, and I feel a wave of unease wash over me as I approach it.I stop in my tracks as I reach the demon, all my bravado leaving me. I stare up at its towering presence, feeling intimidated and uncertain. The demon does not speak, and its face remains obscured by the hood which covers its head. I swallow my fear and take a step forward, feeling my heart pounding in my chest. "I...I'm a human," I say, my voice trembling with fear. "That makes you different," the demon continues, "You may have been born as a demon, but you are not one." I look up at the demon, tears flowing down my cheeks as I feel a sense of relief and gratitude. The demon reaches out and takes my hand in his own, his touch strangely warm and comforting.Alex and Kevin rush over to me as I stand before the demon, their faces filled with concern. "What's happening?" Alex asks, speaking in a whisper. "Who is that?" He looks up at the demon, and his eyes go wide as he gasps in disbelief and recognition. "That demon!" He exclaims, "It's Mr. Johnson? !" Kevin looks at us both in confusion and concern. "Who is Mr. Johnson?" he asks, his voice quiet as if afraid of interrupting the moment.Alex looks at Kevin with annoyance and disbelief. "Mr. Johnson is my fifth-grade teacher,"he says, his tone irritated and shocked. "What is he doing here? And why is he a demon?" Kevin also looks at the demon with confusion and fear. "You know him?" Kevin says in disbelief, "He was your teacher?" Alex looks at Kevin, as if annoyed by his ignorance. "Yes! We had fifth grade with him!" He says. "And apparently he's a demon." . . . . . . . . ♡tbc~
