I am very sorry for this delay. My vehicle broke down and between working full-time and the weather. Getting under it to fix is proving difficult. I will write a chapter soon. Again sorry for delay!
My next chapter, Carol will go to the village outside her grandma’s camp. One of the brothers will travel with her. She will be comfortable but busy preparing for winter. She will also get to know the sled dogs she requested. It is still August so no snow yet. However, she can use this time to get to know the dogs, their commands and which one works best with who.
No, sled dogs aren't abused or given too much work. It is like going to the gym, you won't put a newbie on heavy lifting or long work outs. You build that person up from basics. It is same with dogs and dog sledding. They get trained for it. Only the ones who can last will be a dog sled, dog. They are well cared for as well; proper exercise, healthy food and vet visits.
Please respect the sport and don't give me hate. Dog sledding is part of Alaska history and how a lot of natives got around. Thank you. I will write a proper chapter soon!
