Who's the boss<3 Ryder's POV

691 Words
"How was Miss Violet today?" "Am I actually supposed to answer that question or are you just trying to mess with me?" "I'm being genuine." My friend, Tony, answers back and I look at him for a moment trying to find a way to answer to his "genuine" question "Well, let's just say light was practically glowing off her body, she couldn't even settle down as joy was oozing off her due to my presence." Tony bursts out a throaty laugh after catching on to my sarcasm.  "Only if that was possible. I swear that woman has a permanent scowl branded on her face." Now it was my turn to laugh. I had known Ophelia Violet for three years and by "known", I mean I have had the privilege of meeting her but not knowing the details about her. During all the times that we have had meetings together, I have never seen a smile on her face that didn't have an underlying meaning to it e.g. sarcastic smile, evil plotting smile, fake smile, business smile; wait. Did I say sarcastic smile? "Now you are just exaggerating. At least she tries to smile sometimes." Emphasis on "tries". "Hmm. Okay, enough about Miss Violet. Tell me, did she agree to do the interview?" [Insert face slap] "That is still talking about Miss Violet." I say in a "duh" tone. "No, we were talking about her but now we are going to talk about what she said." I pinch the bridge of my nose because...Lord help me. "Same thing but anyways, she agreed to do it tomorrow." "Wow, did you offer her immortality or something?" I looked at Tony as if he was the definition of stupidity because of the example he chose to characterise the insatiable thirst for power presented by Miss Violet. "I didn't offer her anything, let's just say that she realised how much she would benefit from this deal. We need her to promote our business and she wants more recognition, not that she doesn't have it already." "Sweet, man, well I'm gonna g_" Before Tony finishes his sentence, there is a knock at my office door; Tony and I exchanged looks before I shout for the person to come in. "Good afternoon sir, Miss Violet is on the ground floor and she wants to speak to you immediately. Her words, not mine." Tony and I exchange looks again because we knew s**t is about to go down. "Thank you Pam. I will be down soon." She just nodded her head and went back to her desk. I stood up to put my blazer back on and walked to the exit. "Good luck man, I gotta go and do my work." I laughed at my best friend's cowardliness and walked to the elevator. When I got to the ground floor, I found miss Violet arguing with Carrie, the reception  girl. Great. "Is everything alright here?" I asked as I stood crossing my arms over my chest. "This reception girl told me to wait here. Clearly she doesn't know who I am." [Insert mental sigh]. "Its her job to do that." I try to defend the girl. "Then she is fired. She doesn't have to do the job anymore." Is she serious? This is my company and she has no right to fire any of my employees. "With all due respect," back the f*** off, " Miss Violet, this is my company and you have no right to fire my employees." "I am going to act as if you did not just say that and if you do not fire this girl, I will not do the interview. Plus, you will have to kiss your job goodbye because I will destroy you." She walked off to the elevator with her assistant running behind her. Before the elevator closed she continued, "Get moving because we have an interview to do. I don't have all day." I think I just peed in my pants. I hope you guys enjoyed, I am so sorry for the late update but now I'm back. Don't forget to like, comment, vote, and recommend. ly, xoxo Nyasha
