I can't afford it<3 Ryder

629 Words
Finally arriving at our destination after solid twenty minutes of silence and the unbearable noise of my thoughts on the sensitive topic of my car; Ophelia's driver opens the door for her, leaving me to open mine for myself. My eyes bulge out for the second time today; the first time being when I saw that sign post and now because of the name of the shop we are entering. Roche Bobois. I think it's safe to say that the fancy name speaks for itself so there won't be any ranting about it. Entering the shop, we are greeted by a chippy, bubbly lady who seems to be the customer assistant as written on her badge just above her name. "I'm Khloe Smith, how can I be of your assistance today Miss Violet?" Of course she knows her and I remain as the shadow of a woman. "If I needed assistance I would have asked for it but I didn't so save your phatic talk for idiots." That was just unnecessary. "I'm sorry." Ophelia starts walking after receiving an apology, so I decide to be the gentleman that I am and apologise for her rude behaviour but the assistant just walks off to the counter, not forgetting to give me an eye roll in the process of doing so. I guess she deserved Ophelia's rudeness after all. When I catch up to Ophelia, she's standing next to a Lalique Rayon Vase with golden leaves. "Take this one."She points to it without sparing me a glance. "What?" " I said take this; it was part of the things you broke." Oh right, I walk towards the vase to pick up but then I see a price tag of the thing. $27,226.86. What are the odds of my eyes popping out of their sockets at this point. "Are you sure that this was on your desk?" A nervous laugh follows my question showing how scared I actually am for my credit card. "Yes, why? Is something wrong?" She asks as she points at the next item. An engrave royal selangor picture frame which costs $159.99. This goes on and on until its time to pay after one of the staff members named Mavis Summer. She finishes scanning the items which I had to carry around the shop like Ophelia's pet. "That will be $75, 586.43 Miss Violet." Now its not my eyes that try to fly out of my sockets because that happened ages ago so my jaw takes over and drops to the floor. "I am not the one paying." She says as she carries on typing on her phone as she has been doing since we were in the car. Instead of mopping around, I get my express card out of my wallet. When I swipe my card and help Mavis bag the stuff ,she bids us goodbye and we make our way to the car. As you have guessed, I am the one carrying the stuff. I think Ophelia is doing this on purpose because she keeps on denying the assistance of the workers. At least the driver uses his common sense to open the car boot for me when he has made sure that Ophelia is settled comfortably in the car. "Thank you." I say as I start loading the stuff we bought in the boot but he just ignores me and goes to his driver's seat. As soon as I close the boot, the car starts moving. I mean I think its moving. They wouldn't leave me. Would they? My question is answered when I finally pull my head out of the clouds and not seeing the car where it was anymore. Jaw dropped. Eyes popped. Wig snatched. What the hell am I thinking? A fast update today because I had free time. Was laughing my a** while writing this chapter so I hope you enjoyed.
