Annie’s stomach twisted as she stared into the freezer. Patrick was doing it again. He was second guessing what they had. She wasn’t sure if she could go through this fight over and over, but worse she wasn’t sure she could let him go. They needed to sit down and have a long talk—no s*x, just talking—and they’d do that after she killed Ethan. She dumped the ice into a pan and tossed some rags in a bowl of water. She grabbed both containers and headed into the living room.
“I tried to stay away from her. I did.” Patrick took a deep breath. “But I can’t. I love her.”
