Chapter 4: I Accept the Allegation

Daphne POV

Alpha Lance burst into laughter as he scoffed at us with a mockery gaze. I knew that was ridiculous.

He suddenly stomped closer to Peris and whispers. I heard him.

"I'd spare you Peris for friendship sake, you've got a pack to run but that would only be possible if you let me handle this wench"

"Don't you dare call her that!" Peris warns as he grabbed Lance by the collar and threateningly brawls beneath his breath.

The gammas watched in anticipation as his declaration was accepted by them, that I should be burnt for treason.

A fight almost erupted between the Alphas and I hurried stop in their middle. I was staring at Peris in the eyes. He wasn't the tough man I knew anymore.

Where did all the demeanor of being a vicious man who the wolverine society feared go? What made him change?

He was different now and I knew it was because of me but then, saving him was my priority.

I felt something kicking in my stomach. It was the baby. A news I wanted to share to the man who owns it. Today, I got realize it wasn't good to rely on life because it disappoints.

For the lives of innocent wolves, he should give up on me. I couldn't lose someone like him because of a silly mistake.

In all, the alpha must live. We all were devoted to him.

"I accept his allegation, I tried to kill the breeder!" I declared.

Deep in my heart, I was tired of it all, I wanted it to just end. All my tears yield no result escape betrayals that I faced from the men I loved the most in my life.

I sensed the grief and astonishment in his eyes, like he wasn't accepting my words.

"No, Daphne, I won't let them take you!" He snaps holding my shoulders and I shrugged it away.

"That's enough Peris, I did wrong and I must serve my punishment" I argued and almost immediately, the guards ceased him.

He was so weak, tears clouded his eye as he held my shoulders.

I heard whispers from the gammas, talking about us.

He let go of me and face Lance.

"Please don't" he pleads and for the first time in a while, I felt important, why haven't I noticed that he was always there?

When I was lonely and almost took my life, he always rescued me not Lance. When I had no friends, he was one but I never took him seriously.

Now I had my regrets and if I had a chance, I would love him so much and tell him proudly that I wasn't scared to break all the rules.

I stood in front of Lance, so at last, we didn't get to leave together. How sad and devastating.

Quickly, the deltas bounded me with chain but Peris was yanking them off me.

Anyone who dares drew closer, he shreds them apart. Neither where the bullets they fire penetrating.

He wouldn't give up. Alpha Lance seems pissed off as he dragged a gun from one of the deltas and shot at Peris multiple times.

"No!!!" I cried falling to my knees and the chains bonding me rattles.

Alpha Lance, licked the blood that drool on his nose and scoffed.

"I can't believe a woman made you this weak, f**k! She's your sister! How disgusting" He mocks and I watch as Peris coughs out blood.

He was weak because of the wolfsbane.

I tired to break out of the chain binding me to the wall, to save Peris.

He was about to struck a spear in his chest when someone quickly ran in between these men.

"Stop!"

His appearance was familiar and he had stomped in with some elders, wanting to stop the annoyed Lance.

"Don't gracious alpha, she cast a spell on him"

I knew that voice, it belongs to my father, the man who despises me. My history with my pack was baffling.

He was pointing his finger at me.

Peris was so weak that he could barely get up. I didn't know why Lance stopped as his eyes were now directed to me.

"Burn her and spare my son" he pleaded panting softly. Fear flushes me but then it was such a relief, Peris would be safe.

"I should have believed she's a curse and only cast spells on poor alphas like me! How did I even get to have you as a mate"

I felt so emotional and distressed that he would only rescue his son but not me. Why did he hate me so much?

Their words struck me and I was shaken. My wrist hurts as it bleeds from the strain I caused myself.

A delta wolf paced on with a fire holder in between his lips.

Alpha Lance was fuming as he threw the spear to the ground and stomped closer to where I was tied to the pillar.

"Do you know what's my favorite romance?" He began with a naughty grin.

"Romeo and Juliet, you watched your lover die and so you took your own life!" He glares and drove the long spear into my chest.

"Do you know what's more painful, Romeo gets to live!" He mutters and I gurgled crying as my weak eyes rolled to find Peris.

However, I found his unconscious body been taken away and I sniffed, trembling.

Unfortunately, we wouldn't get to escape and tonight was my end.

"Too sad, he watch his lover die without doing anything to save her" lance voice erupted my head as I sigh weakly.

The gammas had stood up, hanging around the balcony and watching me in the arena.

"This should be a warning to my enemies, never try and betray me"

His voice was fading from my head.

I stretched my hands to reach out for help due to the excruciating pain.

"Any last wish?"

I rolled my eyes to everyone gathered, who watched me wrongly accused. I've helped them in one way or another but they turned their back on me.

These ungrateful gammas, when their packs had an incurable sickness, I was there, to comfort them, to heal them even before I became mate to alpha lance.

They spoke ill of me.

My face was replaced with a stern and embittered look. It was an honor he said that and I was delighted to pour it out.

"If there's a second chance, I will come back for you all, one by one and lance, you'd regret ever knowing me"
